Peek was originally named in the starting lineup so unless he pulled up with an injury it's surprising that he didn't play. Cooper started the match when I would have thought that he would be the other "shadow player" along with Stephenson.

Well, after all these replies we must assume that he was injuried.

I think you will find Ricky opted to see how Snowden would go, and rested Peek.

Peek out for 3 weeks with medial strain

From the Sharks Website

The Sharks experienced front rower Adam Peek will be sidelined for up to three weeks after suffering a medial ligament strain in his knee last Sunday afternoon.

Peek, who had played all 11 of the 12 matches to date in the Sharks NRL side in 2008, sustained the injury during the later stages his teams’ win over the Panthers.

One of the Sharks most consistent performers this year, Peek has been replaced in the Sharks starting side by young forward Luke Douglas, who reverts from the back row into the prop position for the Sharks match against the Warriors.

Former Panther Bryan Norrie has been added to the Sharks interchange bench for the game against the New Zealanders on Saturday night.

dissapointing, peeky has been a real value buy. a lot of people on here mocked the club for picking him up when they did, but i think he is just like staplyton, a bit of a journey man, but dependable, and gets the job done. i reckon peek was a better pick up than nutley, and on a dollar value, he makes you look hard at ben ross.

norrie will be up to it tho, cant beleive he has been left out. i think he may have been brought into the nsw residents squad for scott geddes tho. someone was telling me that the other day, but im not certain of thier credentials. as they are a raiders fan and they cant be trusted

Bargain buy of the year for sure! Think his bad run with other clubs and that related to a fair few injuries earlier in his career, hope this isn't the start of things to come. I like him as a front rower, he seems to deliver all the things you expect of a front rower, not outstanding but bloody reliable and I think that is more important than only one good game here or there. Shame about him being out, but gives Norrie a chance to step up.

Good yard gainer honest toiler. Has really done a job for us this year. Don't believe we have/are resigning him so he could well be going to England.

He wont be signed. With the way brian norrie plays every chance he gets we dont need to keep peek.. He has been good for us this year but we r better off to let him and nuts go.

There really would be no point to keeping Peek at this stage. sure he has been solid for us this year but the reality is his career is winding down and he just isn't devastating enough to warrant pouring more money into Peek. Unless of course he was happy to take a massive pay cut but given his age I would say he is more likely to head over to England (if they will take him) and pick up some extra cash for the next couple of seasons. Sharks money would be much better spent keeping Luke Covell.

Nearing the end of his career but as others have said solid workhorse type prop who is reliable in defence. Bit of a loose carry on the ball sometimes but thankfully that part of his game has been reduced this season. Would be a good buy for a superleague team on a 1 if not 2 year contract.

i like peek.
i heard he is called the "one-year man" due to his career limping along in single year contracts.
i think he's been at approx 5 or so clubs throughout his career.

its kinda hard to believe considering he always does a decent job, i can't remember him ever having a massive shocker.
maybe except for last year when he cocked his elbow at dykes' head. hehe.
uncharacteristic to say the least.

i guess it kept him at a bargain price though.
