Adam Peek will join the Sharks next season - his sixth NRL club since debuting in 1997.

Peek joins Cronulla after a season at St George Illawarra and stints with Parramatta, Souths, the Bulldogs and the Adelaide Rams. The Sharks beat off challenges from both the Dragons and Bulldogs to secure Peek's services.

It is understood Peek was signed for the bargain price of $60,000 a season.

$60k for a reserve grader. he wont make first grade unless there are a lot of injuries. could have been money better spent topping up the contract of douglas or bird for example. have we heard any more on douglas, has he re-signed yet? i don't think we really needed him.

my bro (goon's) dont rate him-reckons the only reason he was in top grade cause browny kept losing good fowards to other clubs.

What a waste of money. Should've been spent elsewhere.

Right now I'll say its money poorly spent.

If later in the season we cop a few injuries and he is needed, obviously it'll be money well spent.

Without the benefit of knowing how pre-season is going, I will say I'd probably have him in the top 25 over Eddie Su'a. Possibly make him and Norrie duke it out for a spot. All average IMO and hopefully they're not required outside of PL.

I think it is a good signing for depth, we are light on in the front row, he can push up to there, he is a solid player, won't win you games but won't cost you them either.

Experienced forward Adam Peek has signed a one-year contract to play for the Sharks in 2008.

The 30-year-old prop who made his NRL debut in 1997 and played for the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2007, will add to the depth of the Sharks forward pack following the loss of Craig Stapleton to the UK at the end of last season.

The Sharks were said to have beaten off the challenge of the Dragons and Bulldogs to secure Peek's services for next year.

A St George junior, having played for the Husrtville United club, the same junior club as Lance Thompson, Peek has since turned out for the Adelaide Rams, Parramatta Eels, Souths and the Bulldogs.

"I lived at Cronulla for six years and I'm now at Miranda, so I know the area," the 106kg, 191cm, Peek said. "I'm really looking forward to playing for the Sharks next year."

Peek has already begun training with the Sharks and was at both the field and gym sessions today (Monday).
