Just heard that Nick Fitzgerald and Osama Malik are in talks with Sydney FC for next season. David Carney is leaning towards retirement and both O’Neill and Brillante are attracting interest from Europe.

This thread is kinda dead, so I’m going to try to bring it back to life with two questions.
1. Who gets your vote as the new Socceroos coach out of the contenders that are being bandied around? My vote goes to Marcelo Bielsa.
2. Sydney FC have to omit one of their foreigners from their ACL squad. Jordy Buijs, Milos Ninkovic, Bobo or Adrian Mierzejewski. What a **** choice to make for Arnie, all 4 of them integral part of the team. You could make an argument that Ninkovic and Adrian are similar types of players and we can go in with only one of them. But I gotta gonwith Jordy. I know how important he is to the defence and our set pieces, but I can’t bring myself to omit one of the game breakers in Ninkovic or Adrian. I feel like Ryall being in the squad softens the blow of losing Jordy significantly. Sucky decision to make, but that’s Asian football:

I’m starting to have 2nd doubt about my first answer. I’m starting to think Bert Van Marwijk might be a better option, especially if we want whoever we bring in to stay on after the Cup. Guus would be great if we’re just going to parachute someone in just for the tournament.

Well let’s see, we’ve heard names like Juergen Kilinsman, Bert Van Marwijk, Marcelo Bielsa, Slavoljub Muslin, Sven Goran Erikson, Gianni Di Biasi, Luiz Felipe Scolari are a few off the top of my head as far as overseas rumours go. You’ve got Arnie, Muscat and Aloisi’s name mentioned on the local front.
