Sharks Forever's ratings for Cronulla vs Melbourne (NRL Premiership, Round 1, 2010)

3 Points - Luke Douglas: Looked bigger, faster and meaner. Hopefully he won't be ground down again!
2 Points - John Morris: Smart, fast dummy half play earned a number of penalties. Better than I expected.
1 Point - Nathan Stapleton: Some nice pickups and defused a massive Inglis bomb at a critical time.

- Isaac Gordon: Good to see some speed! Promising debut.
- Ben Pomeroy
: Apart from one awful flick pass, had a good strong game.
- Blake Ferguson
: Dangerous when he got the ball (not enough!)
- Luke Covell
: Saved a number of tries by stopping an overlap with good reads. Good break in the second half, that should have led to a try.
- Trent Barrett
: Extremely tough defence.
- Scott Porter: Great effort to play considering the circumstances. Had to battle a very strong breeze in the first half.
- Anthony Tupou
: Tried hard but was well-contained.
- Paul Gallen
: Ditto.
- Adam Cuthbertson
: Threw some bad offloads and was hooked... but isn't that why we signed him?
- Cordoba, Josh
: Some good running, went close to setting up a try.
- Albert Kelly
: He didn't do a lot, but apart from a couple of errors, he survived 50 minutes against the World Club champions. Will go well against weaker defence.
- Paul Aiton
: Set up the try for Douglas with a smart dummy half pass.

Blix's ratings for Cronulla vs Melbourne (NRL Premiership, Round 1, 2010)

3 Points - Luke Douglas: Rock Solid, exactly what is needed from a prop. (8/10)
2 Points - Nathan Stapleton: Great game, looking to bust them when kick returning (8/10)
1 Point - Paul Gallen: Good game, great stats (7/10)

- Isaac Gordon: Super quick, given an opening he should score, given no BALL at all, his' speed cut down Melbourme attacking opportunities a heap of times, one bad tackle, needs to be outside Collis to utilize is speed, why are we playing him on the left??? (I am taking it it was to allow he Pom/Cov combo?) (5/10)
- Ben Pomeroy: A good game from Bombaroy, stupid pass to no one though, I want to see Tautai given a go!!!, this flank gets heaps of ball, yet the Fergo / Gordon flank gets none! not very smart is it! (6/10)
- Blake Ferguson: No ball, looked good the 3 or 4 times he saw he ball (6/10)
- Luke Covell: Defensively good reads as to when to come in, BUT, if Ricky can teach this to others I would prefer them as the Cov adds absolutely nothing in attack (5/10)
- Trent Barrett: Hardly kicked and added nothing AT ALL in attack, we need a 5/8 that is going to impact on the game. (He was given no room though) (4/10)
- Scott Porter: Shocking kicking game, found no room at all, NO GRUBBERS FOR REPEAT SETS AGAIN. Also not much when running the ball (4/10)
- Kade Snowden: Rock Solid, exactly what is needed from a prop. (7/10)
- John Morris: Good game, BUT, we needed Aiton on there (6/10)
- Grant Millington: Rock Solid, exactly what is needed from a prop. (oops this guy is a second rower, thats right!) (7/10)
- Anthony Tupou: Good game defensively, tried in attack as well but couldnt create anything (6/10)
- Adam Cuthbertson: Only one bad brain explosion, Didnt really make much yardage, I think he looks best when he is looking to either pass before the line OR chucks the dummy, I think he has to forget about the offload as it causes to many errors (5/10)
- Cordoba, Josh: Meh, not bad, not aggressive enough in the hitups for mine (5/10)
- Albert Kelly: Good first game only made one mistake, looking to get involved but was never given any room, good defensively tonight (6/10)
- Paul Aiton: Good when he was on, BUT the game was over before he got given the opportunity, this guy is a gun, he HAS to be used to spark our attack (6/10)

Wright&Fergo's ratings for Cronulla vs Melbourne (NRL Premiership, Round 1, 2010)

3 Points - Luke Douglas: This bloke better be wearing another type of sky blue jersey this year. (9/10)

1 Point - Anthony Tupou: Top notch performance from Toops, played better than most. (8/10)

- Blake Ferguson: Didn't get the ball all that much, but also didn't do much when he had the ball (7/10)
- Luke Covell: Good effort from Cov, just didn't have enough speed or footwork to score that try. (7/10)
- Trent Barrett: Pretty bad game from barrett, didn't pass the ball much at all and sin binned. (6/10)
- Scott Porter: Showed a lot of passion playing tonight and played a great defensive game. (8/10)
- Kade Snowden: Another solid performance. (8/10)
- John Morris: Great defensively but nothing else. (7/10)

Jaz's ratings for Cronulla vs Melbourne (NRL Premiership, Round 1, 2010)

3 Points - Luke Douglas: Our strongest along with Snowwy, without the dropped ball and with a try. As per usual. (9/10)
2 Points - Kade Snowden: Great meters, always bent the line. One of our strongest in defence, he's an absolute monster. (8/10)
1 Point - Nathan Stapleton: Good, safe hands at fullback and was looking dangerous when attacking the line. (8/10)

- Isaac Gordon: A soft missed 1 on 1 tackle which led to a try for Storm, but good speed and courage when running the ball. (5/10)
- Ben Pomeroy: A couple of strong runs but still way too many errors. (5/10)
- Blake Ferguson: Didn't see enough of the ball to really get a chance to shine. (6/10)
- Luke Covell: A bad dropped ball inside our 10, but great defensive game as usual. Would like to see more cross field chips towards his wing for him to go up for as his good jump is not really being utilized as an attacking weapon. Shame about his kick's bounce but he probably could have passed it. (7/10)
- Trent Barrett: Basically another forward, offered nothing in attack always just hitting the line and looking for an offload. Should have shared more of the kicking duty to take some pressure off Porter. (6/10)
- Scott Porter: Great effort to play considering the circumstances. Kicking game was average unfortunately but defensively strong and aggressive. Good conversion but like Barrett didn't offer enough in attack. (7/10)
- John Morris: Better than what I was expecting to be honest. No real errors and earned us a few penalties out of dummy half. Solid defence. (7/10)
- Grant Millington: Didn't see too much of him but looked solid with legs pumping in the tackles. (6/10)
- Anthony Tupou: Strong runs but defenders were all over him. We desperately need decoy runners and support players around him when he gets the ball, if we can get that then we can get the best out of him. (7/10)
- Paul Gallen: Our leader on the field as always, great, strong runs. Could do to be a little bit more selective with the offloads but wouldn't trade him for anyone. Captain for '11. (8/10)
- Adam Cuthbertson: A bit disappointed with his first game. Showed good skill to get to the offloads but has to be a lot more selective. A hit up in the oppositions 20m with the ball held in one hand up in the air is stupid, stupid play. Deserved to be hooked but hopefully will play better next week. (5/10)
- Cordoba, Josh: Didn't see too much of him but what I saw looked solid in his runs and defence. (6/10)
- Albert Kelly: Again a little disappointed in his first game but have to remember it IS his first game so I can't be expecting miracles. A soft error in dropping the ball cold but showed a bit of speed and strength in runs and defence. Will get better with experience and more time to gel with the team. (7/10)
- Paul Aiton: Looked classy in the short time he was on the field. Played with flair, should have been on the field for a lot longer. IMO should be our starting hooker with Morris on interchange. (7/10)
