The 4 Sharks that are apparently in the mix are McInnes, Hynes, Brailey and Ramien.

Feel like McInnes was a good chance already but with Murray going down I reckon he's all but guaranteed a spot.

Hynes is most likely the next in line assuming Moses isn't match fit so he's probably also on track to be picked especially now that he's improved his defence to the point where he's been one of the best defensive halves in the comp.

According to the article posted recently Ramien is fighting it out with Best, Turbo and Trell for a centre spot with Critta locking down the other one. He'll have to outperform the other guys mentioned over the next 2 months or so to justify his selection.

Hooker is a huge wildcard and it could be any one of Api, Cook, Egan, Robson and Brailey. Brailey's form would have him really close to selection but he'll need to continue to play like he has been against the top teams.

I know they drag Origin out over months for hype / commercial benefits but honestly they could get this thing over with in 3 consecutive weeks of Wednesday night games in June so we can get back to the proper comp and minimise disruption to teams.

Club takes their allotment of byes over the 3 weeks and we play Pacific Tests on the weekend and promote the reserve grades and Womens firsts perhaps in some sorta magic round type arrangement during daytime Sat/Sunday

We don't need 2 months to figure out the Blues have butchered another series picking the same old spuds in the wrong positions

I'd love it this way. Would let any early season injuries have 4 weeks or so to recover without missing too many club games too. Someone like Reynolds goes from missing 12 games to missing 8 which is a net benefit to the league.

First game next Thursday. Shame the NRLW hasn't started so I'd expect the first game to be a bit average as was the case last year. Really looking forward to it though. The second game last year was a cracker.

If you’re the selector for either state, what is your squad of 21?

If Flegler apparently due back round 13 he presumably doesn’t make it. If he gets back sooner he might.

Otherwise looks good, not sure if I’d play Cotter and Hopgood around that way or swap them

Anyone read this about a new Blues spot for this year, Ramien in contention according to Michael Maguire who called him a few days ago.

Never heard of any of these blokes. Think Madge might have taken things too far the other way

Mate Madge would have spoken to a heap of players
Without a doubt he would have mate, I'm a QLD'er so I'm not bothered but you can't say no all of a sudden. He's obviously going to pick players on form though. Not bothered, sort of am though if we somehow get 2-3 players out during Origin period especially with Trindall out aswell.
