our defence was a concern; watched a quick highlight - some of their tries shouldn't have happened, we need to be better than that, especially more formidable and potent teams
Fitz is big on our defence. it needs to be stronger

and silly things to let a team down and out back into the game for bit there

I agree but tbf most teams fans would watch their team conceding and say the same

Played for 40 minutes tonight. Should have seriously put 40 on those games especially with a 1 man bench.

Glad we got the win but can’t play like this against the top teams.

So we were only 1 try short?

Very good win considering all we were up against this wk, not many favours were ever coming our way. Enjoy the view from up top and continue to improve...

Well, that certainly was something... I don't understand our shape in attack (need some input from you @BurgoShark because I just don't see it), our defense wasn't exactly impressive, but we got 2 points out of it... Mostly because Ronaldo played out of his skin tonight.

Not a convincing performance against a depleted, out of form, out of sorts South team. First half was mostly satisfying, as for the 2nd half however... I'll have to down a few more beers to erase it from my memory.
We're top of the ladder right now, but I honestly think we're a bottom of the Top 8 team at best.

Really the kind of deflating win that feels like a loss because I fail to see any improvement on what we're been doing for a long while.

And the sooner that disruptor rule is binned and forgotten, the better.

Was a good win. South’s were up for that and all the pressure was on. Could have easily bottled but we won comfortably. Sure the score got close occasionally but felt like we were also in control

Mate it's absolutely embarrassing, isn't it. I've seen way, way worse ones than Jesse's let go this year. Then they don't penalise Ronnie's one from the drop out where he had zero intention of going for the ball.

Terrible.

definitely inconsistencies in this rule by the sound of it; once the year ends NRL might review it. or can they bring in rule changes effective immediately?
I have not seriously paid much attention to it, the first week I was like huh???, then didn't think much of it until this game when I saw the Jesse ruling

The disruptor penalty is the answer to the question nobody asked. Seriously what is is the point? What are we trying to solve? Why can't you "disrupt"? They created more aerial contests by removing the penalty risk on short dropouts so that can't be the issue.

inconsistencies across the park with the officiating

it really is a lottery as to how something is going to be ruled.

very frustrating

and, yes, they have made rule changes (or tweaks) mid season in the past.
one way is to teach the bunker the difference between a genuine attempt and non genuine. Cos at the moment, they are guessing and trying to “mind read” what the players intention is.

I think the NRL are looking for more grey area interpretations.

We have had a couple of them go against us that are very debatable. Then we see some legit distracting jumps get a play on.
