Mate it's absolutely embarrassing, isn't it. I've seen way, way worse ones than Jesse's let go this year. Then they don't penalise Ronnie's one from the drop out where he had zero intention of going for the ball.

Terrible.

By the looks of it, the disruptor is a thing only when putting an attacking kick in the opposition red zone. Which is interesting. 🤔
As for the Jesse's supposed infringement, is the guy meant to look at the ball at all times with no means to check where he's going, to know how to time his jump or navigate around the opposition blockers and so on?
Totally confusing rule by the looks of it, inconsistent rulings, that's the NRL we all love.

Don't forget, Will got penalised in Round 1 when he actually bat the ball back so who the hell knows?

Well, that certainly was something... I don't understand our shape in attack (need some input from you @BurgoShark because I just don't see it), our defense wasn't exactly impressive, but we got 2 points out of it... Mostly because Ronaldo played out of his skin tonight.

Not a convincing performance against a depleted, out of form, out of sorts South team. First half was mostly satisfying, as for the 2nd half however... I'll have to down a few more beers to erase it from my memory.
We're top of the ladder right now, but I honestly think we're a bottom of the Top 8 team at best.

Really the kind of deflating win that feels like a loss because I fail to see any improvement on what we're been doing for a long while.

And the sooner that disruptor rule is binned and forgotten, the better.
Will do some work on this.

Agree though. Good ball attack is poor. Not going to get 4 tries from kicks every week.

2 points is great. Tries from kicks always gives me an uneasily feeling that it’s a Hail Mary play.
I’m interested in what teams people think are actually going great?
We ain’t but plenty of others in same boat.
Think plenty get down on not winning by 40
We have played some desperate teams early dogs Wests then south’s I like that we won by 4/5 whilst not purring and having to deal with adversity, remember the knock was no plan b I see us out there grinding and trying other avenues.

Yep

Exactly.

Hynes isn’t the be all end all which means were more balanced.

Tricky and Hynes just need to play on both sides of the field together more

Happy with the 2 points, we werent the best but got it done. Souths were up for it, im not sure if the extra efforts came from them knowing they were down on troops or if it was a case of turning up on the night. Either way, souths showed more fight than they have all year

I dont think its hail mary. Ronnie is a threat under those kicks. Why wouldnt you go to it.

Odd we havent seen balls out the back to Will as much this year that right side Nicho to Kennedy sweep was almost perfect last year

It’s obvious we are still a work in progress. We’ve had some injuries which hasn’t helped with consistency and momentum. But it has given us a chance to blood new players and give them experience in the top grade which will be very valuable in the weeks and months to come.

It’s really hard to complain about us at the moment yes the attack isn’t clicking so well at the moment and our defence is still not quite to the level we’d like it. But we are on top of the table without playing anywhere near our best so there is certainly room for improvement.

Even though the next three games are still not against high top four teams, our performance in these games will tell us a lot about how we can handle it when we do play Melbourne, Brisbane and Penrith.

Sounds like Rabbitohs put up a good enough fight to potentially have spared JD for now.
If they were going to sack him now leading into bye would be best time - may have early some time with squad to try turn things around.

I did think, while outmatched and unlucky with injury, they did play fairly well.

I have seen them practicing those at Captain Runs.
