I guess Tuks isn't ahead of Hunt in the pecking order now ?

Or just rotating them so they get game time ?

I like what Tuks has been doing but a handful of low minute games isn't going to get him ahead on the pecking order over a more established Sharks semi-regular like Hunt. Especially for an away trip to Melbourne I think I'm actually ok with going with the more experienced Hunt.

Hunt needs to play a good game though (ball security and defense), with rest of our pack playing well and AFB here next year he should do the maths and relise opportunities like this could determine how the rest of his career at the Sharks pans out. No room for spotty efforts in our middle anymore.

So what I’m hearing is that
“They are due”

We belted the Storm at home a few season ago (might have been Origin effected but think that was actually the Panthers game we won).

We were good that night and they were kinda flat.

Sometimes the Storm are off, it's rare but it can happen but never really against us. Still we are due to put on a show in Melbourne, gotta happen sometime right?

Bit bummed out Coates is out Sione would have given him a schooling.

His replacement has 10 games to his name... (apparently good player though)

Both started for Jets last week - Hunt obviously looked good enough in contrast that he got the nod

Munster playing 7. Need to just run at him all game to try tire him out otherwise he’ll give us another bath like last year.
We don't beat Melbourne very often, especially in Melbourne. Even with those players out they always seem to have it over us.
And all the pressure is on Hynes. Unfortunately he just doesn't handle these games very well. Hope I;m wrong but i reckon we lose this 13+

True, they do seem to “aim up when the chips are down”

Playing his old team, together with the added pressure of playing for an Origin spot (on top of filling the Tricky void).
Thats a lot more pressure than he should have to deal with

Hope you are wrong too. And that win, lose or draw, we are still in it up to our eyeballs come 79-80 th minute mark

Just looking at the players from the storm who I think are going to worry us. The first obvious one is Cameron Munster. He’s always made trouble for us in the past, and always seems to be on the outside of his man, and we always seem to fall for his dummy. Really need someone like Brit and Tieg to be up in his face and put some pressure on him.

The young fullback, even though he’s inexperienced is also another obvious danger. That try he scored against the Titans was amazing, although he wasn’t up against some great defensive players there. But he will be a handful and we will have to deal with him very closely.

Everyone is saying that Big Nelson is also a threat and I do agree, but I think the other player we have to really nullify is Christian Welch. That guy never wants to be put to ground he stands in tackles so often it is amazing and of course he has that offload that can come from nowhere. So each time he has the ball he has to be put on the ground to stop that offload from happening. Much of their second phase play starts with Christian Welch.

Added to all this, if we do bring our power game with our back five and keep the penalties against us to a minimum and obviously hold the ball, then I see no reason why we can’t win.

I just hope that last week's game in heavy conditions, doesn't make us come out flat. We need a good start to take the crowd out of it too.

Yeah, see, I never get this.
It was a week ago and these guys are very fit (meaning they should recover quicker than the average bear).

The heavy conditions shouldn’t play a part, but OUR ATTITUDE will.

We need to come out with the same attitude we have been over the first 8 games (excluding the Tigers round obviously)

If we do, we will be competitive

True, but obviously it does play a part as if a team doesn't play well the next week, it always gets mentioned. Where we struggle is in the mental area of believing we can beat these teams.

I reckon its just an excuse.

If it was 2,3 or 4 days then yes I can accept that
But 6-7 days. The body has well and truly recovered and it is more a mental thing (just my opinion )

It's all about remembering to shift out of 4WD.
