Sharks NRL Coach Craig Fitzgibbon Expresses Frustration Over Media Focus on Online Fan Comments

In the lead-up to their clash against the Melbourne Storm this week, Sharks NRL Coach Craig Fitzgibbon has expressed frustration over the media's fixation on online fan comments, particularly those from a user known as CrazyMatt on the Sharks Forever forum.

CrazyMatt's comments, suggesting that the Melbourne Storm are due for a slide down the table, have gained traction in the media, drawing attention away from the team's preparation for the upcoming match.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Fitzgibbon voiced his frustration, stating, "While we appreciate the support from our fans, it's important for the media to focus on relevant aspects of the game. Comments made on online forums should not dictate the narrative surrounding our matches."

Fitzgibbon emphasized the need for his team to concentrate on their own performance rather than being distracted by external noise. "Our focus is solely on the upcoming match against the Melbourne Storm. We have tremendous respect for them as a team, and we are fully aware of the challenges they pose," he added.

The Sharks coach also highlighted the professionalism of the Melbourne Storm and their track record of success in the NRL. "The Storm are a top-quality side with a history of consistency and excellence. We cannot afford to underestimate them in any way," Fitzgibbon emphasized.

Despite the media attention surrounding CrazyMatt's comments, Fitzgibbon remains confident in his team's ability to deliver a strong performance on the field. "We are fully focused on our game plan and executing it to the best of our abilities. Our aim is to put in a disciplined and determined performance against the Storm," he concluded.

As the Sharks gear up to take on the Melbourne Storm, Fitzgibbon's remarks serve as a reminder to stay focused amidst external distractions and maintain their concentration on the task at hand.

We don't beat Melbourne very often, especially in Melbourne. Even with those players out they always seem to have it over us.
And all the pressure is on Hynes. Unfortunately he just doesn't handle these games very well. Hope I;m wrong but i reckon we lose this 13+
I agree Hynes overplayed his hand badly in the equivalent game last year, Sharks lost all structure when Nicho was playing for his New South Wales spot, he is a year older & hopefully wiser.
