I think it's a failing on the media's part that this disparity exists. Especially when the panels are full of ex-players that know this stuff, but don't use their expertise to educate the fans.
I think the experts are coached to dumb it down. Completions, metres, mongrel, x-factor and gushing over the star player. No room for actual RL knowledge.

I would love to consume more content that actually went into the analytics of systems over just talking fantasy stats. That's part of the reason I liked the 5th and last podcast. Those guys had been involved in a fair bit of junior rep coaching I believe, and often made reference to and explained different defensive systems.
The RL Writers are really good too. He's doing some videos now in addition to the posts with animated gifs.

I'm going to do some similar work (with video) on the Sharks attacking shapes over the next week or two.

Yeah I do enjoy RL writers, hadn't seen much video content though. Keen to see what you're cooking up!

He only started doing them at the start of this season. Latest one is on Egan.

Must be a hack, he gave Walsh a compliment!

This is great, I'll chuck him a follow and keep up with the content.

It's something I've always thought Blayke was good at around the ruck, but I would have given him this much credit for the shapes we score off. Will watch for this now too.

Thanks for sharing.

Will Shaun Johnson go down as the warriors best halfback? Or is Stacey Jones still their goat?

Was a having a chat with a mate about this and wanted to hear other people’s thoughts.

For me it all lays on whether or not Johnson can win a comp with the warriors. Something Stacey couldn’t do.

When making all time teams people will just cheat and make SJ the #6.

I think you are right. Jones possibly a nose in front atm but a trophy would change that.

Stacey Jones is a legend in NZ rugby league , I don't know anybody that would rate SJ close to Jones .
He even had a top racehorse named after him that won heaps of top jumping races here , it was simply called Stacey Jones , can't see anybody naming a horse Shaun Johnson .

I guess he will have to be content with being the Sharks greatest ever signing.
