I was pleased with our defence last night. One try came from Hazelton coming forward when he needed to hold and the other try was basically Nicho doing the same. We held them out well at the end of the game when we would have called needed in the past. They have decent forwards and they had a crack for a while.

And between Jesse, Jack and Tom, our middle has good depth.

If we ever beat a " Top 8 " team this site is going to be short a few posters , sounds like many will have heart attacks from the shock .

I'm still a believer , when we are 3rd in the table with the best attack in the league we are doing something right , if they can get the defence sorted , and i do believe we are getting better , then we will surprise some teams .

When they scored their 2 tries, our middle was Wade, Tommy and Jack - hardly our strongest lineup.

One of these three would have been in our preseason best 17
And it was probably Wade who has arguably been the worst of the three to date this season.

Was expecting the tigers to have a bit of a dig last night but very underwhelmed with our performance.
Thought Jesse C was very good in limited minutes

Also is it just me or does Todd Smith really seem to dislike us?

Seems we had a simple game plan last night, a semi final type game plan, run hard, tackle hard, kick to the corners and complete, we dominated field positions with ease, now we need to do this against the better teams

Thought the 2 tigers bench forwards had a fair crack when they came on, the tigers weren't that bad last night.

And our fake half back who needs a nsw cup 5/8 to help him did well to have them bringing the ball out from there end of the field for most of the night

Our defence is still our BIGGEST concern
Otherwise known as the Blocker Roach game plan.

I didn't believe this but then looked it up. My god you're right lol.

Awkward win, take the 2 points and forget it ever happened. We get our chance against the top teams in the coming weeks.
The narrative was skewed by last week, but the Tigers have been reasonably solid defensively. Probably why expecting us to walk up and put 60 on them wasn't too realistic.

For all the backlash Brooks cops any team will take a hit if their main half is injured - they went 102-6 first two weeks he was out trialling random dudes filling it at 6. Actually managed 36-12 the first week they played a true semi-competent second half.

The week Brooks only played 60 then got hurt they lost 28-12 but they also lost Api after just 15 minutes. Two weeks before that they had a 1 point loss to raiders off the back of toweling up a near full strength Cowboys 66-18

I think we're about 6th best in defence too, which isn't too bad. And if you take out that Storm game it's top 2 or 3. Is it a finished product absolutely not and needs to improve but it's not too far off.

That game was a seesaw. I could easily see tigers getting in front and running away with the win.

They didn’t find that game easy.
Seesaws go up & down. Tigers never had a lead on us & it was only 12 all for 5mins before we were back in front where we stayed.

Were you an only child? Playing on a seesaw by yourself?

Need I remind you that this lot beat a full strength Penrith earlier this year? Dont ever tell me it isn’t possible that any team can beat another in this league, because you know its happened time and time again. There is every chance the Tigers could of turned us over last night if the players hadn’t reacted to being blasted by Fitz at half time.
Like I said the only hope they had was us giving them a ton of possession. I didn't watch that game but guessing Penrith lost it more than Tigers won it.

In absolutely atrocious conditions, yes they did. That always levels things up.

Wins a win, but they havent been all too convincing last 3 weeks against dogs, dragons and tigers, all 3 struggling teams with injuries and in-house issues, all wooden spoon contenders were in it at stages in the first half against us. We are not clinical, we are still not disciplined and our defense is average.

Give a good side like Warriors opportunities and theyll roll us in the first half and get on with it in the second. Real test at Mt Smart, against a bigger forward pack and a good spine, SJ and Metcalf will be up for it

I'd take 136-38 every day of the week.

Im looking forward to this game and getting a better idea of where we are actually up to. I am hoping they can pull off a narrow victory and come from behind in the last 10 minutes and score a try to win it. Not so much because I want to be stressed, more so that they believe they can do it. A couple narrow wins against good sides would do them the world of good.

I kind of don't mind we are out of byes and headed into a more challenging run. We need to be pushed through back end of the season if we are going to develop into a team that has some fight in it

After storm being flogged by cowboys and then storm replying by flogging us 50 plus, a top 4 team who supposedly has the best attack in the comp kept to 2 tries. No I'm not convinced til we start beating in form or top 8 teams, not wooden spoon contenders
