Fitzy half biting his tongue in the presser.
It looked like he would have opened up a bit if they had asked him more than two questions, same with Nicho. Laziest press conference I’ve ever seen by the journos, must have wanted to get home.

Press conference was awful. Why bother doing it? 2 minutes 53 seconds.

You know, I’m definitely not one for tin foil hat conspiracies but you can almost imagine some high ranking NRL official getting on the phone to the guys at the press conference and telling them to make it short and sweet, cutting off any notion Fitz might’ve had to criticise Klein.

If you look over the tape again you could probably find penalties that were properly given, but when a guy gets tackled a metre out from the line and throws the ball away, there’s no way you can give it back to him. If he didn’t hear the six again call then bad luck.

I‘m not going through all the matches but I’m sure there was a precedence before today when a similar thing happened and the ref ruled lost ball.

Ref and bunker said that because he wasn't genuinely competing for the ball he impeded Turbo in trying to catch it.

There was some incidental contact which Turbo probably didn't even feel. He dropped it because he was baulked by Ramien.

IMO putting fullbacks off by leaping in the air near them happens in practically every game these days and most of the time the players doing so aren't making a genuine attempt to catch the ball. And they're not penalised.
What's the difference between what Ramien done there and a fullback or winger shepherding the ball over the dead ball. They're not playing the ball either

We didn’t play the full 80. We need that killer instinct. thought we were patient with the ball in the first half.
we need BHU and toby back IMHO
We weren’t allowed to touch the ball for a big part of the second half which tanked our energy levels.
Partially our fault, partially decent (not great, fortunately) play by Manly, partially ref - but we turned up in D during this period so even though it ruined our whole second half I’m not too critical

Good win against the Rainbow Warriors. Few and far between and never come easy. Should have put the game to bed in the first half, but then again, with this mob, one never knows... We saw what happened last year against these same Rainbows and again earlier this year.

SlowMo Trbojevic should shift to 6. Just needs to go with the trend. He's done as a fullback. Covell would leave him in his wake in a footrace.
He would probably be an upgrade on Johns too. But honestly, it's Manly, **** them, the more they lose, the happier I am.

Refereeing... well, fairly even in the first half. Won't say old mate Ashley tried to help the trailing team in the second, but he did his best to keep the home fans happy. Job well done as far as the NRL goes, I reckon.
That second try though. How's that a 6-again? One of the most ridiculous calls of the year... month, nah scratch that too... of the round. And plenty more to come too.

Lovely attack, good defense. Overall satisfying performance with a lightweight pack. Well done boys.

Katoa saving the kick for touch.
Foot on the line just before taking off to knock the ball back in or not?

Just watching the extended highlights and still shaking my head with Ashley Kliens calls in both half’s favouring Manly.

The Most glaring (in the highlight reel)
1. Nicho reaching out late in the first half, TT kicks the ball from his hands on the last and awards them the ball!
2. Manly’s 2nd try! Everything about it. First the 6 again call (there is no chance someone touched that kick), then to give the ball back AFTER they threw it away and finally, there is no evidence that the ball touches the ground and the bunker couldn’t see it but decides not to make a decision!
3. “Need to wait 10 secs” before blowing time (just to make sure I can’t give Manly a penalty at the end there)!

Regardless of what we thought about that "six again" the defence for Crokers try was weak.

Tooves was there yesterday - even he would have been calling for an investigation on the 2nd half Klein fest …

Got through this game without injuries I think?

6 day turn around.

Fitz might have them on light training for a couple of days to refresh.

Great game plan by Fitz, smash em early get a nice lil lead, keep the home fans quite and silently turning on their team and coach, then let them back in give them hope so they all get excited like teen girls at a Justin Bieber concert and have to stick around for the 80 minutes and get stuck in the exist traffic and still beat them… masterclass on how to beat them.
Topped off a great Mother’s Day
