According to The Big O the NRL has said sharks will play at PointsBet if we get a home final

The Penrith Panthers have secured a major coup on the eve of the finals series, locking down fullback Dylan Edwards on the longest deal of any player at the club.

Edwards, who is already contracted until the end of next year, has signed a four-year extension to keep him at the club until the end of 2028. The contract is believed to be worth about $3.4 million over four years.

Somebody tell me what 800k now is with the cap inflation. My frame of reference is completely gone.

I feel like it would be similar to 650k ish before, which is a great deal for Edwards.

$800k in 2024 = 48 VB's and 600 Winnie Blues in 1974 :)

Also... the 2024 salary cap will be a little under double what it was in 2016 once you factor in the 5 extra players on minimum wage, plus allowances, tweaking the tier 2 cap etc.. A guy making $400k in 2016 was consuming ~6% of your cap space. This is about the same for a guy making $800k in 2024.
