The great thing about the 3-2-1 is we dish out the points every week regardless of what the forum really thinks of the players...

1st: Nicho Hynes - 21 Wrong position, looks lost, no kicking game
=2nd: Blayke Brailey - 18 Not good enough for an NRL team that wants to play finals
=2nd: Matt Moylan - 18 Not good enough for NRL, does nothing
4th: Siosifa Talakai - 15 Wrong position
5th: Cameron McInnes - 10 Dont see it. Still stinks of Dragon
6th: Briton Nikora - 7.5 Oh... this guys playing okay for once
=7th: Ronaldo Mulitalo - 7 We love Ronnie now!
=7th: Toby Rudolf - 7 We love Toby... as a 2nd or 3rd choice prop
=7th: Royce Hunt - 7 Sub par
=10th: Jesse Ramien - 6 Lacks discipline and can't pass
=10th: William Kennedy - 6 Shouldn't even play Rugby League
=12th: Teig Wilton - 4 Mostly popular
=12th: Connor Tracey - 4 Jack of all trades and **** at each of them
=12th: Lachie Miller - 4 Helped beat a couple spoon contenders and went from Olympic joke to NRL saviour
15th: Dale Finucane - 3 Old, beat up and overpaid
16th: Braydon Trindall - 2.5 Future immortal*
17th: Sione Katoa - 2 Sexy!
18th: Braden Hamlin-Uele - 2 Shows glimpses of okayness but not enough

Good one.

Judging from all the end of the year comments, I did not know we had such a crappy team. It looks like we need at least 20 new players.

Apparently so.

Each player must also be a current rep player and be a star. To be clear we do not accept rep players that actually aren't that good and we're just a poor selection from selectors

And if said rep player has 1 bad game, they should be banished to Newtown.

I reckon we are in a little trouble next year if the spine is exactly the same..I highly doubt we will improve.

If we do improve it’ll be because of Fitz realising he has to change something and push the sh*t out of these players .. the group of players we have have stayed and like to stay at a certain level for most of their career apart from very few and the 3 new ones.

We need an injection of a Dykes or a Trindall or both

Tend to agree, I would be shocked if we come 2nd again next year. Even a top 4 finish would surprise me.

A few players stepped up performances this season on their previous years here. The likes of Ronaldo, Toby, Talakai, Katoa, Nikora… but we do need more to go to the next level, hopefully Fitz can find that

I think we will improve, but probably not enough to win a comp. Problem is anything less than 2nd will be looked at as regression, and we know we are unlikely to finish 2nd with a tougher draw (assuming we get one).

If we ended up putting both Trindall and Dykes in, we'd likely regress further. Regardless of opinions on who is better, throwing two rookies in fulltime will have their challenges for the immediate season. Maybe it would work out better long term? Again, that depends on your opinion of who's better.

IMO our biggest opportunity for improvement comes in our pack. It's time for our middles to stand up and hit the next level. If they can do that, we will challenge good sides with out backline. If we are inconsistent though the middle again we will be in for an indifferent year.

Dykes is special I feel like he can very quickly add value, similar to bird similar to Holmes.. there are young players that just light it up and make a difference, the ones we’ve had lately aren’t those types of players. Maybe they were thrown into it too soon who knows but Dykes seems like a different breed

Trindall is more for our overall game and Hynes - said it early this year I can’t see us doing too much damage with Moylan in the halves it just means Hynes needs to overcompensate when push comes to shove in games where the eyes up thing doesn’t work (top 4 teams)

I feel you - those guys are going good but you need those better performances consistently doesn’t need to be every week but more consistent then what it is, this is where I was saying it’ll come down to Fitz to know/be able to push the sht out of them

I guess my point is more that Hynes and Brailey would have to overcompensate more to cover for two players in their first full season. I think you can bring in one rookie, like Souths did this year, if they are surrounded by a good support cast and still do well. Even then, Illias took a fair while to get going. IF, Tricky and Dykes were the answer, I think you'd expect to take a step backwards next year before moving forward the year after.

Best thing for their development, would be bringing one in where they can ease their way into grade without too much pressure on their shoulders. Again, that's IF Fitz was to think they were the answer. I don't think our spine will change to start the year. I think Tricky will remain a back up, and we will know more about where Dykes fits depending on whether and how long Kennedy is re-signed for.

Do you mean the same Trindall who struggles with consistency for Newtown?

what are you smoking ? He hardly plays for Newtown your comment doesn’t make sense.

The kid had one bad game in a team full of players he hardly plays with and he just had his appendix removed… the kid also killed it when he played first grade ? What’s your point ?

Wiz, not being funny but your taking a long bow to claim Trindall killed it “when he played first grade”. In my opinion, overall Tricky was a C-

Trindalls biggest problem is the guy who did kill it in first grade through 2022, was the guy he was competing against for the 5/8 spot a year ago - Moylan.

If Moylan had a single slip on or off the field, Trindall may have got more minutes - Moylan did not slip up.

If there is an introduction to the back line, I agree Dykes is special - for mine he would add more overall impact than Tricky & may be bought in if Kennedy stumbles or is groomed to take over from Moyan In 2025.

Dykes has more in his trick bag than tricky.

I agree with Proud Sharks assessment - the room for improvement is the pack.

Tinkering with the 6,7 & 9 that all finished in the top 4 of our group Player of the year pole seems daft.

I wize man once said that it shouldn't matter who you play with...
And he was inconsistent when he played for the Jets or Sharks for whatever reasons you care to attribute. He did well sometimes and not well other times... in the same game. It's all in the threads, match reports and stats mate, I don't think anyone disagrees.
He had five 80 minute games for the Jets and ran for less than 40 metres in three of them, his goal kicking was 68% and missed 4-5 tackles regularly while barely cracking double digits made (I think had had all organs intact for 4 of those games).

Feel free to be glass half full about him, it's good to hear opinions, but he's not made a compelling case to crack the starting side for the Sharks.

All good… Kinda missed my point but

Trindall had one bad game at the jets and sparkles jumped at it - using that same flawed logic, Trindall also has had games this year in first grade where he killed it so now what ?
