Lots of confusion around at the moment with our 1-17 but that comes when you have 5 day turnarounds and a game as hard as we had against Melbourne.

Not sure if this afternoon's team announcement will answer any of those questions, I assume Fitz will play his cards close to his chest as to the final 1-17 on game day.

This has probably been answered but does anyone know if Dale has been officially ruled out? I'm not sure why Fitz wouldn't at least name him and see how he goes through the week.

Need to be well on our game against this mob - as has been said, they are definitely our bogey team. We could be first and they could be last and they'd probably still beat us.

It's a five day turnaround for them as well so they might also have bumps and bruises but I don't think there are as many question marks about their players. Tommy Turbo seems to be the only one that is definitely out.

If Talakai does play centre again, it is going to be great to see how he goes against Harper.

The two players I want to see absolutely bashed are Cherry-Evans and Dylan Walker. Cannot stand either of them.

Saab is a danger but I think he is a bit of a powderpuff in bringing the ball out and he is easily bundled into touch. He has pace but not much strength I reckon.

I'll have a look at the Silvertails forum today and see what they are having a chat about.
Fully agree with your bashing sentiment: I always hope it happens, but I have never seen the words in black & white. DCE is one special piece of work.

Manly seem to be getting better each week on the back of DCE & Foran and some of their young up and coming players starting to find their feet but their wins have all been against bottom 8 teams after a poor start to the season against top 8 teams (and they had Turbo then too) though 3 of 4 of our wins came against bottom 8 sides as well.

I feel we were primed and setup to win this game but now we have some concerns in the squad and came back to earth a tad in the second half against Storm though we still put up a good game to them.

Manly have same Home & Away record as us, glad we are playing this at Points Bet though

I don't think the Hodoo is as much a thing anymore, we have won some games against Manly in recent seasons, we have new faces in this team and a new attitude and systems, beliefs, coach ect. I don't think any of the new players will be choking or worrying about our history against the Sea Eagles and some imaginary curse or jinx.

With all that said I believe we are a superior side even with our outs and should win and under Fitz we have turned up each and every week ready to rip in and play. We don't have to be perfect, just keep doing whats been working and tighten up the defense after that second half against storm.

Fortunately neither Foran or DCE are Munster though they do have Walker on the bench and some other slippery players in the backline. their bench don't look to flash in general though , just some workers

The boys will wanna get straight back in the winners circle

Was just about to ask this. Obvious choices are Tolman and McInnes but it seems that whenever Dale’s been off the field this year, Nico’s been acting skipper, so he might be a surprise choice.

If it were up to me I’d give it to Cam.
Nicho was sat @ side of Fitz in the post match presser vs Melbourne

Yeah I thought he must have been able to play. Would have been a waste of time naming him on the extended bench otherwise.
Because we want (in Hazelton’s case) to be able to play a forward if anything happens to any of our guys in the lead up.
If a couple forwards bang heads the day before the game Hazelton becomes eligible.
Same goes for Calquhoun. But I think Pele would need to be used ahead of both.

Could be wrong about how you can use players outside top 30 currently though (as there have been some post covid changes in this area).

Interesting to see how many minutes Cam will get. I hope we play him closer to 60 than 80, no need to work him dead like St George used to.

Just in case any of you don't know yet. Hynes named Captain.

Calquhoun maybe the 18th man?
Unless someone in forwards was injured, wouldn't think he'd bump Fifita or Royce

Pele picked something up in NSW Cup last week so possibility he isn't 100% as an option either
