Tolman’s 300th and he started first 2 games so he will be playing.

His been pretty solid so don’t mind him getting the nod the way he’s being used.

Yeah agree plus we're getting quite a bit of impact as it is, not everyone needs to be making a shitload of metres if they're contributing in other ways.

there is no way i am dropping tolman, he keeps our ruck so tight when he comes on

thats more important than anytthing
I would be surprised if Tolman didn't play most games for this reason. Him Finucane and McInnes (and Brailey) are becoming the foundation of our defence

You need to make a stronger case to change a winning side.
”Just add some impact” probably isn’t a strong enough case at the moment to be honest.
Especially after we just beat the Eels and smashed the Dragons, who up to our game have shown some real fight and ticker!

Personally I would make the case if you are keeping Trindall, Williams is a better choice as a bench player than Fifita because based on last season he is equally effective but can play more minutes and more positions - but I have nfi how Williams went on the weekend and he is coming back from some time off. I don't have a problem keeping Fifita in the 17 and having Williams playing 50-60 minutes for the Jets for a few weeks to get up to speed.

Our forward depth currently puts us in a great position and fighting for spots is the perfect scenario to be in.
Changes to the team can disrupt the “balance” so they need to be considered and reasons put forward as to why. They might include forced changes ie injury or suspension or something different like form, “horses for courses” (ie opposition or needing 4 grunts over 3 and a utility) or a better overall balance for the side.
Williams for Fifita has some valid points in arguing that change.

Yeah no change Tolman gets dropped, not only because it's his 300th at home but also he's been doing a good job around the ruck. And we know Fitz values defence highly. Going to the game on Friday, the club usually does a great job of celebrating players milestones.

Maybe when McInnes is doing more minutes and can take some more middle work away we'll see him replaced but think he's a few weeks away from being dropped.

I would like Williams back so if that means Fifita is dropped I'm OK with that. Maybe he'll give Williams another game for the Jets since he didn't play any trials.

Nice problems to have

If Tracey is fit Trindell becomes even less appealing. I say less appealing cause Trindell was not good against the Dragons and was only given 13 mins anyway

That time would be better served us a power stint from Hunt or we add Williams for a bit more flexibility

At this point I am not sure what Fitz would be trying to achieve with Trindell besides some utility/cover. That's all well and good but that player still needs to perform to a standard and add value to the squad and our performance on the day. I am more confident Hunt or Williams would do that.

What he's trying to achieve is cover, especially for spine.

Since HIAs the value of your cover has gone up immensely. But often that player doesn't have a proper role if everything goes well.
Have to weigh up what your other cover options are (like you said Tracey is a decent one possibly already in side) and decide how valuable the utility is to you.

Trindall is 1/10 valuable if everything goes well, and anywhere form probably 6-10/valuable if we get multiple or spine HIAs
VS Hunt for an approx 15 minute stint is probably only 3 or 4/10* valuable if all goes well, and even less so with spine HIAs

*rate him that low just because if he doesn't come on for that 15 minutes we have forwards easily capable of covering it, not quite as well as a big freshie, but still fairly well

I wouldn’t be surprised to see McInnes be in Starting 13
I wouldn't be surprised, but I do think he'll stay on bench for another week or two at the moment

fifita aint getting dropped after his best game in 3 years
Last year Fifita was playing poorly in NSW Cup and people wanted to put him in the first grade team just because and now he's actually playing decently as a 20-30 minute bench prop in NRL and people want to drop him.

I've said already I don't think he is playing so well he has the jersey locked down, but someone else needs to perform well enough to take it from him. Not sure what Jack and Royce have put together in NSW Cup so far, Royce got a mention in write up last week as playing well.

Tolman and Fifita will have their work cut out for them keeping those two out of the 17. May the best men win.

I just hope everyone stays healthy enough to keep competing for the spots.
