Felt like the game plan was just to tire out the Dragons forwards all the first half, rather than play our normal game…, but it just didn’t fully happen (crowd atmosphere worked against us and Dragons stayed up for it). I guess it still worked though if we got the win.

The teams needs someone to steady the ship, and someone directing them around the field.

Also, we need some forwards with impact that run straight and hard. Fifita brings it when he is on, Tony does to an extent. But I think we Talakai back in there and look for another centre.

Our halves are front foot halves. They like to run with momentum and at the moment our forwards are not providing that. It makes Hynes play frantically instead of fluently and playing what he see’s.

Shows how crap Saints forwards are by the way we outmuscled them. That virtually never happens.

What a ****ing awful game. Nicho showed zero leadership qualities. We limped in as the least bad team tonight.
Cannot wait for Moylan to come back... I cannot believe I'm saying...

Two points... We're doing what we need to...

Local derby has lost it's luster since Dragons turned to **** becoming our little sister and begging to be given a go on the pony while we trot around on horses - such bitch ass fans, we had our time as a pleb club losing every other week as well but we hung in there and came out the other side while having some semblance of a plan in place for the future.

We cannot compete with Penrith and the Cowboys if we are this bad at the very basic skill of the game, which is holding a ****ing football. I’ll never understand how NRL teams can rack up these sort of error counts on a consistent basis.
Obviously I've quoted you Matt but my reply is not necessarily directed at you or what you said.

It wasn't long ago I remember watching the warriors go almost 80 minutes with a 100% completion rate but they never looked like winning. It seems pretty obvious to me that we are trying to play a fast, slick, advantageous/opportunistic, maybe even sort of "predatory" style of attack. We take a lot of risks with the ball and at the moment it's not sticking as much as we would like, no doubt. But it's only part way through year one with Fitz and he is clearly trying to build something a bit unique that I see a lot of promise in.

We also had half our regular spine missing and a key link man in Dale which no doubt owed to some of the clunkyness.

Watched the replay when I got home after the game.

I was so angry with that performance. It’s been said a lot on here but the errors are just ridiculous.

If that was against a top four team, we’d have got beaten by 20. There were some strange ref calls and how Sims wasn’t sent off I’ll never know. I know he was remorseful but that is a send off for sure.

But the ref calls don’t matter if we hold the ball and complete. It is just so **** to watch at the moment.

On the brighter side, to win playing rubbish with no Dale, Moylan, Kennedy, Katoa, Hunt and for most of the game Tracey, then it’s a fair effort especially in defence.

On ABC Johnny Gibbs gave 3 points to Nicho. I know he scored a try and kicked four from four but in no way was it a man of the match performance. One of our engine room deserved it more.

If anyone in Sharks colours thinks next week against the Tigers is going to be easy, then think again.

Still angry at brailey 12 hours later, there just was no need so little game awareness finally wrestled 12 point advantage our goal line D was solid few tackles into the set 90 seconds from half time their attack had limited sting in it.
The day after I think we learn more after a win like that that we could have easily lost than if we trotted out and win by 30..
video review will have Fitz giving some the the death stare

Yep. I almost have the feeling that I wished we lost from 1 more try in that 10 minute period to teach the little **** a lesson. Almost.

I have a feeling that Mondays video review will be bad enough. Maybe start him on the bench next week as a reminder.

I agree but would like the team to be agile. For example, it was obvious that last night was not our night and we were making more mistakes than usual. When this happens, wouln’t it be better for the team to change its style and maybe lay a bit safer kind of footy?

Maybe it’s unreasonable to ask this of our team at this time. Maybe it will come in time…

I get what you're saying but I don't think they have the mentality of "it's not our night" and if they do I think it switches quickly to "let's make it our ****ing night".

Again, I see what you mean and agree we need a few more gears and patients. But we cleanup those errors and make it stick we are an absolute force and as that happens our defence only improves.

We are up to our neck in this comp when really we're probably an off-season or two off anywhere near our best.
