When you sign to play for the new zealand warriors its a fair chance you'll have to live in new zealand.

He said he can't commit to living in NZ once his contract expires end of 2023.

I don't see what he's done wrong.
I don't either. He isn't weaseling out of his contract he's just letting them know nice and early that they basically need to begin to looking for a replacement. 18 months notice is pretty fair. If the warriors pulled the pin on him no way he'd be getting 18 months notice. Whatever his reasons are he has informed them not to calculate him and a possible contract extension into their future plans. He is not breaking the contract.

I think Browny is a bit of a dud but there is no doubt he is a good bloke.

I think it was more a case of the writing was on the wall and what's the point of relocating to a new country just to be sacked within a month or two.
I think your spot on. Why relocate to New Zealand for the preseason and up until maybe around 12 just to have to pack it all up and head back?

See ya Browny - he's officially goneeeeee.

Does that mean they're paying out the rest of his contract also?

Might see if the Warriors have any other jobs going. Sign up, want out, get paid out. You beauty!

No. He made the rookie mistake of not getting into a fight with the owner.

Would have to be if they sacked him just for saying he won’t seek a contract extension.

I’d guess they actually negotiated a way to sack him where he doesn’t look performance sacked and they don’t have to pay out as much - just throw out the ol can’t see myself in NZ line Brownie and we’ll take it from there

It’s a great way to be paid out and not quit. Browny smarter than I thought.

Yep agree with this. Definitely comes across as a good bloke, would be good to have a beer with and chat footy I reckon.

Get my f****n' name out of your f****n' mouth Mark Robinson!
Look buddy, we don't need your type are around here. We have a gentleman by the name of Dylan Walker arriving next season. Not only is he coming to the warriors to win the premiership, he is also a big family man. He gives it his all ... whether his misso is ready or not.

If Flanno can't get a gig out of the Dogs, Nz and possibly the Tigers, he will surely have to move to England to restart his career.

Time for Metcalf to say he didn't think he'd have to live in NZ either.

Agree. He is the perfect coach for any one of those clubs. Why you would want to go to NZ (if there are Sydney jobs going) would be hard to imagine. I think NZ need to fix their issues from within.

How old is Flanno now? He built a club up to the pinnacle but he didn't just rock up, he was Ricky's assistant for a while. Maybe a bit different being around and coming through as opposed to coming in fresh. He also had Gal – a leader – which I don't think the dogs, warriors or tigers have. And despite all the efforts of Gal and Flanno and others it didn't all come together until our head office was in order.

I will back the dogs to get out of the hole quicker than New Zealand and tigers. Because love him or hate him Gus is a smart mother ****er, smarter than everyone from warriors and tigers put together. That Justin Pascoe from tigers just seems like a real oddball. Warriors owners are rich, seemingly committed, but I don't know, maybe playing a game they don't know well enough.

Anyway, maybe Flanno doesn't want to spend half a decade or more undoing 30 years of **** ups and building it all from scratch at the warriors. And seeing the pressure McGuire is constantly under, why the hell would you sign up for that?

Can't? They'd fall over themselves for him. I think we'll see how smart Flanno really is through his next move.

It must be pretty sweet to just rock up, chat footy and have fox pay you for your insights while occasionally blowing smoke up your arse. Commentary box would be a lot easier than coaches box.
