Part of the reason they were chosen was to give their massive junior nursery a pathway into the NRL, drip feed those talented youngsters over the next 5-10 years and they should be much more competitive hopefully.

Its a long term project so hopefully their fanbase is patient as the club earns their scars and pays their dues so to speak.
Yep fans need to buy in long term which I think they will.

Then hope they can unlock the Harry Grant, Cooper Cronk, Cameron Minster’s etc before Storm. (Not sure where they exactly come from but another Qld first grade path could overrule them moving away)

Don't know what you lot are looking at. The backline is hot garbage, average halves and most of the forwards are in their 30s.
Those old blokes don’t need to be good in 4 years HB. Just need to get the job done for 1-3 years and show the younger players how to be a professional.

Kaufusi / K-Brom is possibly the best back row pairing in the comp, and nest season both will be 2 years younger than Luke Lewis was in 2016. Guys can play good footy after 30.

It's good to have experience but that's a lot of old dudes.

They have bought those players to help establish culture. If they haven't over paid for them it is a smart move. Professional palyers who know their job. Then you just offset it with some of the best 20-24year olds coming through to learn off them.

Woods mentoring the new crop of young Tigers forwards... With great advice like he gave Toby - "don't chase the play around so much. Converse your energy."

Good luck Benji.
It's no wonder we never wanted him. Terrible for team culture. You look at our team and they make a huge effort to be in position in defence

I had forgot that gem. But just the other week I seen or read maybe Toby or BHU saying how they'd learned that making the immediate effort to chase and shut it down reduces the effort required to shut down the next play because you'll end up on the back foot. So basically the polar opposite to Sharon's pearl of wisdom.

Hope he didn't give any advice how to high five after a try!

I don't see the issue with conserving energy where applicable.

I can't remember any successful distance runners starting a race with a sub 11 second 100m.

Doubling up your effort from marker to push 5m on P3 is better than needing your mate to break his position, desperate tackle, P4 quick PTB, 6 again and now you've got 15-20m just to get back onside and scramble a whole set, or until Woodsy would wave them through like VIPs.

The dummy half and forwards waiting 35 out so for the backs to get it to them after a kick rather than running all the way back to be there on P1, fair enough.

This reads like an episode of Pananas in Pyjamas

How many would go back and scrap the 6 again rule and Captain Challenge?

The two ref system?
Scrap 6 agains, bunkers and let Klein ref every game. At least he will be consistent and rob all sides equally.

Six again but with this years tweak of it being a penalty inside your 40, when officiated right I think it's good. But same as a game without six again rule if the ref calls too many penalties or doesn't call one's when he should it ruins the game. It's not a bad rule when done right in my opinion.

Always hated the two ref system. Unfortunately when the second ref left we didn't close the door properly and the video ref slipped further back in and has pretty much taken up that second ref role but now he has the powers of replay and the ability to stop the game for infringements that sometimes not even the victim was aware of.

Always hated Capt's challenge too. The ref either has final say or he doesn't. And the way it is used it is often very cheap if it makes sense. Very rarely have I ever thought "wow, that was a great use of the captain's challenge". Very regularly I find myself thinking "are we seriously spending two minutes checking this?" a cold drop is a knock-on I don't care if super slow-mo suggests it trickled a mm backwards.
