Couldn’t find a thread for this years origin so figured I’d get one started.

Being a Queenslander I reckon we’re completely ****ed this year.

Nsw should win 3-0 imo

Any sharkies a shot?

I'd be surprised. I hope we get at least one in there, it makes the series so much more interesting.

Our only roughies are Prior, Chad, Bukuya...

We’ve had at least one representative in State of Origin every year since the Super League went under. It’s an incredible streak. But I think it’s likely to end this year.
• Graham is injured
• Townsend is behind at least 4-6 other guys.
• Morris and Gal have retired from Origin.
• Dugan is similar to Ferguson where they simply don’t like his attitude and won’t pick him again.
• Moylan is injured.
• Woods is injured.
• Johnson and Fifita aren’t eligible.
• Prior is probably our only real possibility but it looks like he has slipped down the order.

Who else could get a call up in our team? Nobody

You don't think they'll pick Fergo?

I'd be amazed if he's not picked.

I wouldn’t. The impression I’ve been getting the past few years is that the higher ups feel that him and Dugan were a toxic presence in camp. Well he played well last year and didn’t even get a mention. Although with Tommy Turbo out they might be putting that aside. Who knows.

I wouldn’t think so after the way things went down a few years ago and they pretty much stamped his card. Freddy might be waivering though. Who knows.
Fitler was quoted as saying if he wants to play origin to pick the phone up and call him. I reckon Fergo has nailed his spot already

Capewell maybe in the squad for qld but that’s about it.

If you’re a qld selector, considering all the injuries. Would anyone here give reed Mahoney the 9 jersey? And maybe even Rhys Martin a crack on the bench?

Surely they’re better options than ****ing Granville, Wallace and Hess.

1. Ponga
6. Munster
7. Morgan
9. Hunt

Work around that.

That has to be the best spine they could field. I was struggling to think of a 9 for them but I don’t think hunt would let them down. If I remember right, Hunt was playing pretty well at 9 for the broncos before moving to st George

With so much uncertainty around who’s going to be the spine for NSW, the best thing the maroons could do is name those guys ASAP and back them to do the job. If the blues go with Keary and a new hooker, that’s two players new to origin against a fairly experienced QLD spine (assuming they go with above).

The common consensus has the blues taking this, but it could very well be a QLD ambush with some strong performances. Munster comes to mind when thinking of players who have the step up. He’s looking likely to be the face of the NRL soon, or at least the guy that the media and commentators jack off to everytime they touch the ball, so a big game from him could really help him take that title.

I’m probaly more excited for this origin than I have been in years and years. It’s starting to feel like an actual contest instead of the blues vs a bunch of immortals

Yep 100% has to be picked, if they don't pick him then they are kidding themselves he's so much better than the other options it's not funny.

That's what I'd be doing if I was a QLD selector for sure.

Why would we pick a new hooker? Cook is a shoe in.

I'm pretty sure Cook will be their #9.

1. Teddy
6. Keary
7. Cleary/A.Reynolds
9. Cook

The weapon, like QLD had with GI, is the centre. Latrell will go beastmode and player of the series.
