I've always stayed up to watch the WCC because I've loved the concept since I was a kid. I've got the time so I'm flying over - when else can you fly to the UK to watch the Sharks as reigning premiers?

And if they lose? Ahh well. The experience will be fun. It was only 2012 when the Aussie team lost. Never gets extensive media coverage here anyway.

Bird fullback
Tuilagi wing beale centre, or beale wing ramian centre

I reckon Beale wing Capewell centre. The WCC means bugger all anyway if he's not good there. Get Capewell some game time. IMHO players who were part of the 2016 squad should be at the front of the queue for this game. In particular Capewell and Paulo who missed out on the GF. I'd shoe-horn those two into the team any way possible before adding a player.

Capewell will most likely play wing.

wing? That would be odd. I could see Capewell/Beale switching spots based on situations (especially defending the try-line for from kicks), but Capewell wearing the #5 would look a bit weird. Is Feki fit to play? He didn't play at all on the weekend.

From the GF squad ...

subtract Barba, Ennis, Townsend, Holmes ... insert Brown, Capewell, Paulo and a hooker. Obviously they will take an extended squad over (19 or so) but I'd personally do it that way for this one off game.

Edit - just read the previous page that said Feki no good but Chad cleared to play. Make that ...

subtract Barba, Ennis, Feki, Holmes ... insert Brown, Capewell, Paulo and one outside back. Capewell you would expect is guaranteed to play in the 3/4 but we are still shy 1 guy. Nu to wear the #9. I'm guessing Paulo plays a few minutes at dummy half in relief.

the players are getting picked today for the trip to england. would expect 20 to go over there. hopefully the announcement is today as well or tomorrow.

capewell will play in the backrow, no point putting him in the backs

For round 1 I agree - but as I said I would rather see the guys from the winning squad who missed out on the GF (Paulo, Capewell and Nu) be rewarded with an opportunity in the WCC rather than pulling in some guy who has never played a fg game. The WCC is an extension of the 2016 season. Not a trial for 2017.

For round 1 - Feki is back. Bring in a new centre/winger and leave Capewell on the bench.

That's a clunky looking backline. Specially compared to last year...

I like 20 man squad but I would have Nu and Paulo in the 17 ahead of Latimore and Cherrington.
