No - if you are comparing against our GF winning squad I have put a Paulo in place of a bench 3/4.

Bukuya debuted as a winger mate ;) but yeah, he was supposed to be a centre - Bukuya at centre these days is a bit of a stretch I reckon. Lewis is "OK" there in an emergency, but I wouldn't run out with either of those guys in #3 or #4.

I don't give two hoots about Wigan's pack. We outplayed Canberra's pack with Beale and JSL on the bench - Flanno's strategy for playing big teams is to run little guys at them all day.

In some ways we were lucky to get that win. Determination got us there in the end and at the time I attributed that to our team being prepared to put their face under a steamroller to get the job done. Not sure we'll have the same death before dishonour attitude for this game but time will tell.

They're best and most influential player (Josh Hodgson) going down with an injury probably helped too......

Sharks Coach Shane Flanagan today announced a 20-man squad to travel to the UK for their Dacia World Club Challenge match against English champions Wigan on February 19.

Flanagan’s squad contains 13 members of the Sharks Grand Final winning side, new recruits Jeremy Latimore and Daniel Mortimer, and three hookers, with young local junior Jayden Brailey, Fa’amanu Brown and Mortimer all included in the travelling party.

In naming 20, Flanagan has been forced to leave a handful of injured players behind, most notably Valentine Holmes, Sosaia Feki and new buy Tony Williams, while he is keeping his cards close his chest as to who might slot into the fullback role.

Gerard Beale appears to be the most obvious choice, with Jack Bird another option.

Another interesting selection is Jesse Raimen, with the NYC-eligible outside back impressing at last weekend’s NRL Auckland Nines.

Raimen, who played all three matches in New Zealand, scored two tries against the Bulldogs in his teams’ final pool match.

The group departs for the UK on Saturday and will base in London until Thursday before heading north to Manchester to put the finishing touches on their match preparations.

The Sharks v Wigan clash is scheduled for a 3.00pm kick-off on Sunday UK time (2.00am Monday Sydney time) at DW Stadium.

Thats a decent squad but anyone know any reason why Cherrington wouldn't have been picked? I'd say he must have picked up a small knock in the 9's. He impressed me a fair bit.

He was brought as McKilwrick's replacement to play NSW Cup. Thats where he'll be and thats where he should be.

Not a bad looking squad. That side should account for the Poms

It was last year. Can't find any info on this year. Probably not even on tv because it's us.
Might play a small part in it but the Broncs will be over there as well - CH9 usually don't give a toss about sport played outside of Australia, particularly games played outside of prime time/in other time zones where Foxtel pick up the slack and CH7 have the Olympics ect.

If they could make good coin from the advertising they would pick up more of this sorta thing I would say. Cricket & League are their bread and butter but they are still very selective or only willing to bid so much for the rights outside of domestic seasons

So much for the Wide World of Sport aye
