Harsh HB, Brisbane care enough to go when others have bailed, as a keen supporter of a success starved club I was starting to think we may never get the chance to play in a game to decide the world champs, I'm certainly more excited by this event than the 9's. But would give 2010's other nut for back to back NRL titles

Fair enough, Vic. I still maintain premierships are the only thing that matter, this is just a trial /friendly imo.

Take the Amco Cup. We all talk about it.....if we'd won in 73 or 78 it would never be mentioned.

Getting excited about piss weak 'titles' wreaks of desperation........ imo at least.

I don't get the hate towards the WCC.

Sure you can't compare it to the Grand Final, even a Semi Final.

But to say it's merely a trial is laughable.

I've been some trials where 30-plus players from each team have been used. Unlimited interchange, 4 quarter football where conversions aren't even taken.

I don't know much about this Wigan team, but I'm sure they'll be up for the match.

I know the NRL is obviously the superior competition but there's no way we just gotta turn up and win.

Wigan will already have started their season, we will have had just one trial leading into the game - and that's against Brisbane on the same weekend as the Nines.

Throw in the fact that we will have trained all off season in the Australian summer, and then we have to go to the North of England in Februrary.

It's definitely going to be a bigger match then the usual trials we seem to play every year against the Wests Tigers or Manly.

I don't think we'd fly an entire team to the UK to **** about. They're professional footballers who want to win every time they run out whether its for competition points or not.

Someone said capewells training on the wing, but other than that yeah he is surely our first back up

You don't think having the title of "world champs" is at worst a confidence boost for the boys at all? To do something the club has never had the chance to do? Expand and promote the brand of the cronulla sharks?
