Second Brisbane side no quick fix: White
A second NRL team in Brisbane won't be a guaranteed success, according to Broncos boss Paul White.
There have been renewed calls for another Brisbane-based club to be introduced at the expense of a Sydney team after the Wests Tigers' woeful last round crowd attendance.
"People say it is because we are in the Brisbane market but we have worked really hard - it's not a matter of just coming to Brisbane and thinking the money will flow in," White said of the Broncos' financial success on Monday.

A 2nd Brisbane team is a no brainer. i do however think that the goldcoast team will probably fail and end up as the 2nd Brisbane team. I would like to see a perth team.

And for sydney clubs, we have a team thats not made the finals 7 years running, poor crowds, financially unstable, nrl had to appoint board members just to mediate basically........for all sydney clubs, wests would be first out the door. The discussion came about this week after the adelaide game, like it does whenever we play a game in perth or

As soon as a club is down they just start getting kicked like this. It's ****ty because I think there's definitely a place for Wests. When they are up they have a huge presence.
As for too many Sydney teams, who cares? You could put another team in Brisbane and perhaps one in Perth. But Sydney is the largest city in Australia. And it is the largest Rugby League city in the nation by a considerable distance. We are a country where the main population bases are the cities and the second largest city doesn't care for the game.
If they want Brisbane 2 to happen they can do it without sacrificing a Sydney team.

As soon as? The tigers have been terrible on and off the field for far too long. The salary cap should never allow a team to miss the finals for 7 seasons. But their office made that possible. A merger already, they owe 10s of millions if i remember correctly, the nrl had to appoint board members basically to mediate decisions seeing as the wests and balmain seats could never agree. Really, they shouldnt be still in sydney. Take the license to brisbane or perth. The nrl should merge newy/bears or something
