I've been pushing expanded members exclusive merchandise for a few years now.
Doesn't have to be stuff we purchase at the start of the year, could just be things that are available to purchase seperatly all year long.

I like the idea of being able to choose your add ons outside of the basic pack. Even to a point of instead of getting a hat or scarf or beanie, maybe get a stubbie holder or Sharks Schooner glass for example. I understand the costs aren't equal and would be needed to be factored in.

I'd even keep the basic pack to a minimum, I don't know about others but I wouldn't use a lot of the things like the lanyard, stickers personally. I'm happy to pay the same amount for those that want them since they're pretty cheap items but for me they're a waste. A key ring and a voucher would be all I'm after, maybe a buy one drink get one free at the Leagues club or something, valid on game days only ?

Yeah, I don't use a lot of the stuff. The voucher this year was really good.

These are good ideas and things that could be added to the "Member Add-on'" - that is, you would pay for them. Although the stubby holder would be cheap enough to throw in instead of a cap or beanie, I suppose.

Keeping the basic pack to a bare minimum is the key. I think you need to have the sticker as you want people to promote the Club. Ideally, every member would display their sticker on their car, which makes people notice how many Sharks members there are. That's why it needs to be a good sticker that people will WANT to display.

Would love a beanie. Please don't make it tacky though.

This is absolutely essential. Anything you give away to members MUST be quality. Otherwise it cheapens the membership experience. For example, it's no good giving people a members cap if they are embarrassed to wear it. Make it quality or don't bother. Of course, everyone tast is different and you can please everyone so keep these things basic and stylish - don't make them too flashy or gaudy. For example, in my opinion, this years capwas good quality but I'm not going to wear a sky blue baseball cap. It's fine for kids and the ladies but I think it looks ridiculous on a grown man.

However, everyone would wear a good quality, black baseball cap with the year and logo on it. Put "Member" on it somewhere and you are done.

Personally, I reckon a good trucker cap is also hard to beat. They pretty much look good on everyone and they are comfortable.

Just a bit more info.

As most of you are aware I volunteer and work in the Shark Tank.

They are looking at doing a few things with the shark tank next year and beyond.

Things that could happen are :
Enclosing it;
Installing a drink and food outlet (for members of shark tank);
Membership ;
Part of membership could see a training day for members/fans of the tank; and
Sponsor.

I had been in discussions with several staff as they want to see the tank and the rest of game day to be a hit

Like the sound of that, Matt. I think we need these types of "supporter hubs" around the ground that can build and maintain atmosphere and crowd involvement. The idea of the Shark Tank as it's own little "party zone" with drinks, food and music from the drummers will certainly appeal to many people.

Ironshark, mate I think your spot on with the hat. Wade Graham wears a basic black hat with sharks written on the front.

I know you can buy them but I'd rather give the **** hat back and add an extra $20 for a good hat.

The only thing is the sponsorship getting all these logos on with out looking ****.

The only thing I see the problem is bang for buck.
I want to see it affordable for all.

There is a new membership team and some of the stuff they could be bringing along for next year will be impressive

That's the go for me as well.

Expect the part of buying your son the jersey

It takes care of keeping it affordable if you get a 3 or 4 choice basic pack, then you have the ability to add to your pack at a Members price, not just shopping at the store

Couldn't agree more. Personally, I'd have no sponsorship on it but it depends on what the contract with the major sponsor stipulates, I'd assume.
If you must have it, just the major sponsor logo somewhere inconspicuous, maybe on the back or side.

Theres some great ideas being thrown around.

For me the main thing is the club needs to ensure the gear is designed really well and is visually appealing. In years gone by some items have been kick ass and some go straight into the bin. I liked the 2011 members gear because it was a smart design, the 11 in 2011 was made to be the LL in cronulla.

Yes it would. And if you sell memberships at the door to people that have had a couple of drinks, you might get more members...

what about the supporters that have season seats their not going to leave them to go to the shark tank.
the bar on the south eastern hill only ever has 1 window open, line nearly goes down to the scoreboard

far out those drums are so annoying, we sit on the eastern concourse just close enough to hear the annoying banging.
might be ok for you dudes that sit in the southern stand.

I can't stand the drums and I sit nowhere near where they are. Different strokes for different folks and all that but I'd be interested to see if more were for them or against them.

Anyway some really good ideas getting thrown round in here, will be good to see it all work out.

Yeah I'd be happy if they enclose the shark tank inside a sound proof box, no offense, but those drums are ****ing annoying and suck all the atmosphere out of the crowd.
Love the passion you guys show but take the drums to a music festival or something
