Could the price Increase be because we are not taking a game to gosford this year so we get an extra home game, 12 instead of 11? Doesn't make up for the big jump in prices but could that be one reason ?

As I have said previously that equates to 9%.

Penrith had the worst membership last year so it stands to reason they would need to lower their prices. Living out that way people are not that keen to buy a membership they are all still hurting over losing lewis, jennings and Flash add Coote to that and buying Soward it'll be a tough sell.

Even though i just lost my job, I just brought my first membership... I was so close to buying one last year but Cronulla aren't the only ones with money problems. If it weren't for some of the passion & dedication floating around on this forum then I still would be an un-ticketed supporter. You guys do a good job at defining what it really means to support something.

The membership site is an absolute bludger of a site. It won't let me view any pictures.

So I'm trying to look at it on my phone which is like trying to view it on a piece of cheese.

I compared the prices with the 2013 brochure I found here: http://nrladmin.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/document/00003551-source.pdf

I can't 100% confirm those were the actual final 2013 prices... I did have a feeling they were a bit higher... though it matches some of the comments above. Does anyone have a brochure they could confirm those prices?

Forgive me for any transcription errors.......

*** Using the GA price in 2013... seats were free

I don't think those prices were correct. I have a brochure from 2012 and unless they put the prices down from 2012 to 2013 (which I find hard to believe), they are not correct.

Here are the 2012 prices:

ET UPPER: Adult - $450 Child - $350 Family - $1150
ET LOWER: Adult - $390 Child - $260 Family - $850
Southern Grandstand: Adult - $345 Child - $250 Family - $850
Peter Burns: Adult: $320 Child - $235 Family - $780
Eastern Concourse: Adult - $280 Child - $210 Family - $620
CSSC: Adult - $280 Child - $210 Family - $530
General Admin: Adult - $240 Child - $165 Family $550

As I said, these prices are straight out of the 2012 membership brochure, so unless there were some significant price cuts between 2012 & 2013, prices haven't incresed much, except in what are now called "premium Eastern Concourse" seats.

When you consider you could get a family CSSC membership for almost $100 less than a family membership in the same Eastern Concourse (probably with worse seats!) you could say that CSSC memberships were underpriced.

Once again, I don't like paying more money any more than anyone else does but I think most of the price rises have been exaggerated.

Prices did go down this year because of the game we took to Blue Tongue. Mine went down from $330 to $300.

Yes it seems odd, but everything I can find says prices did go down in 2013. Possibly due to one game less at Shark Park.

This was the link sent to me in my membership renewal email last year: http://nrladmin.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/document/00003506-source.pdf

It corresponds with the prices I have in that table.

So it would appear to me that prices have pretty much returned to what they were in 2012. For some reason, some seats in 2013 were substantially discounted. Perhaps this was a failed experiment and they were not making the margin they required to make the Club profitable.

I don't really know the answer but I don't remember people jumping for joy over the substantial discounts they must have gotten last year?

Yes sir.

Got 2011, 2012 & 2013 on my desk right now.

Am I correct in my assertion that some prices went down quite a bit from 2012 to 2013? Peter Burns Stand being a classic example: almost $200 cheaper from '12 to '13!

Why would this happen?

Just got a wonderful email from Mr. Keogh.... i feel so privileged. Such a wonderful man. Congrats on their fantastic membership pricing structure.

For those who don't get such wonderful emails, here it is.

I want to thank all our members and supporters for their great support of our club in 2013. When our team most needed our fans, you were there for them.

The 2013 season was one of the most challenging in the club's history. The ASADA issue surfaced just before the start of the season. The relentless related media coverage that followed would have torn apart lesser clubs.
The strength and resolve of a club is most tested through hard times and our team and staff should be congratulated on how they have handled themselves this year. Led by Shane Flanagan, the team's ability to focus on the field and reach the second round of the finals was an outstanding effort.

Off the field the club went through significant change. A new Board was elected in April bringing together a group with strong business experience. New senior management was also brought into the club in key roles, including CEO Steve Noyce, Peter Legg as General Manager Finance & Corporate Services and Steve McGee as General Manager, Marketing and Commercial.

Collectively we managed to outperform budget expectations in a range of key revenue metrics. Memberships exceeded the target of 10,000, home game attendance was up significantly year on year, as were merchandise sales. New sponsors such as Remondis, One Solutions, Pain Away and Reozone all invested in supporting the Sharks.

The media likes to paint a bleak picture of the clubs finances, but had it not been for costs incurred relating to ASADA and a salary cap fine, the football club would have operated at break even in 2013. Given all the challenges faced this is an outstanding result.

So what of the future? Stories of the Sharks moving to Queensland are unfounded. The Board is determined to chart a course of long term sustainability and viability for the club in the Shire. We are not moving, we will celebrate 50 years as a club in 2017 in the Shire and we plan to be here for another 50 years and more.

The true strength of the club is our support base. If the Sharks are to thrive longer term in the Sutherland Shire we need to grow on the support we have had this year. The best way to demonstrate support is to become a member of the football club. Memberships are now on sale for 2014. Please support the team by becoming a member and encourage others to join as well.

At a Board and senior management level we are putting in place plans to ensure that on and off the field we have the resources to be competitive with all other clubs in the NRL. There is much work to be done but we have the team in place to get there.

I am confident that bigger and better things lie ahead for our club. Let’s all work together to make it happen.

Below is a list of all the great acheivements our team acheived in 2013.

Up Up Cronulla!

Regards,
Damian Keogh

Chairman
Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks
