We're not renewing, only had shark net membership this year. As young bloke just turned two. I wasn't dragging my 1yo to the footy in the middle of winter (not judging those that do). So missus made me a deal next year (2014) we can get ticketed family membership and take the kids to the footy. We usually sit in the Peter Burns stand when we go which is awesome when it's not raining and great value. So when I got the email to renew I logged in to upgrade. Looked at the prices though **** that!! Though maybe I was imagining the huge price hike so logged in here to check it out, stumbled on this thread and in particular the attachment which confirmed the price I had in my mind .5k the rest is history.

Look, I love the club, if they want to double the prices so be it. But I'm not (can't) paying 1k a year to take the kids to the footy.

Maybe they still crack 10k, maybe (hopefully) 15k. But this is my fair dinkum result, they priced me out of it. It is what it is.

I'm smuggling booze in all season and then they'll see the real damage to their back pockets.

Can't families just not sit in premium seats?

The upper ET for example sells out easily and is a premium limited resource. I'm happy for whoever wants to pay the most to get those seats. I don't thing sprogs have the right to cheaper seats because they're still taking up a seat either way that an adult could have sat in.

Take your kids to GA and let them run around on the hill?

A lot of people probably want to sit undercover with their children, which is something I can understand (not that the PB stand is undercover). It is limited at Shark Park though, so unfortunately you need to pay a premium for it. I do think the price is a bit excessive, but if they can get it, good luck I guess.

There needs to be more undercover seating. First on the agenda for any ground redevelopment should be the extension on both sides of the ET stand. It would be the easiest to build by far and the easiest to put a roof on.

Let the 2yo run around the place unsupervised while mum and dad focus on the footy. Yeh thanks. As I said the prices have gone up so be it

I think you're on to something, there really should be a sign out the front noting children are to pay adults prices and another one advising under 18's they are prohibited from sitting in anything other than GA. We'll be killing the memberships in no time not to mention the next generation of kids who grow up to support the sharks.

Not for nothing: Sharks GA $545; Roosters GA $429

Family GA is actually cheaper than 2012 prices. If you think your toddler needs a gold plated seat then pay for it I guess?

If they don't sell out all seats in the areas where the prices have gone up then I'll consider it failed policy, but if they do all sell I think it's been a good idea to put prices up. We'll wait and see.

1 important thing to remember, roosters dont own their field, they share it with other codes, tigers play games out of there too.

Sharks maintain and fund their stadium. Sponsorships, government grants, fund raising, gate sales and memberships

Just for the record. To get a membership to The Burrow with the Rabbitohs (equivalent to The CSSC) you will pay $875. That is for two adults and 1 CHILD ONLY! An extra child is another $100. Burrow seats nowhere near as good as The Cage.

A Roosters Family membership in comparable seats to The Cage is $795. You don't get a supporters jersey or any of the other benefits of the CSSC with cheap travel and free drinks for away games.

How is the average Souths fan with 6 kids and on welfare supposed to pay for that?

Sea Eagles Family membership in comparable seating is $600, although what they call "Premium" seating is $1120. Only ten home games and once again, no other included benefits.

Iron, it's not so much what the prices are now imo, it's how they've gone about it. Surely the increase could have been staggered over a few years to lighten the blow rather than playing catch up in one year?

Like I said earlier, for some reason the Club discounted a few categories last year, some quite substantially (Peter Burns almost $200 from 2012). This has made the price increase look worse, in my opinion. I'll be paying about $300 more for my family CSSC membership but when you compare it to other NRL clubs and what you get for that, it's not unreasonable.
