even though I would like to see Gards the Flash & Lewis combo at the Panthers was killer

just because michael gordon once said to a newspaper that he likes to play fullback doesn't mean he's going to come to the club demanding to play fullback.

he will play wherever flanno wants him to play.

i personally think he would be a bit more useful at centre, replacing best if he retires.

It is purely speculation. Who knows our recruitment seems strong enough at the moment that we may actually buy another NRL quality winger which makes Gordon to FB even more logical.

I agree with the previous poster, even if Gordon has spent most of his career on wing and would do well there as a FB prospect he craps all over Gards & Wright.

It's still wouldn't make it anymore logical unless they signed two quality wingers. If they signed one it would still be better for the team to have them and Gordon on the wings and Gardner at the back then Stapleton and old mate on the wings with Gordon at the back.

He can't get it wilson - it's a concept way beyond his intellect.

I guess it's easy just sitting back taking pot shots at posters than actually contributing to a discussion. It's not my fault if people want to make it personal...

What I was alluding to is that if we do miraculously sign one decent winger that leaves the other wing open for Stapo,Mills,Ike,Gards, Hotdog to fight it out. Surely as they continue to develop one of them can improve enough to make it their own. We arn't going to be able to buy the entire roster we desire, still going to have to develop some of our underdone players.

I do not see us getting 2 new wingers for 2013 and I wouldnt want this to be the reason Flash gets stuck out on one of them. As good as Poms & Best have been this year individually they are still not great at setting up their outside men.

But if my intellect really is that inferior I spose none of the above can make sense whatsoever. Off to get my nightly labatomy now.

My line of thinking this weekend is that if we missed out on Luke Lewis, then we would keep John Morris for the experience. But we have signed Luke Lewis, so maybe we look at keeping Peachy instead of Morris.

Experience is one thing but Morris ability is limited and is taking up a bench spot. I am willing to go with MB's idea of Robbo on bench as utility/hooker next year providing Chad is good enough to play consistanty footy in the no.7

I know it probably doesn't mean much, but I was looking at Toyota Cup team lists from 2008, to see how many players have kicked on into first grade. And I noticed Bukuya played some games at centre for Cronulla and Gardener played on the wing for Parramatta. They wouldn't be new to the positions, but at the same time, it was only Toyota Cup.

Collin Best has come out and said he's retiring at the end of the season, Who takes his spot? I wouldnt be adverse to a wright/m.gordon centre pairing maybe give luetelle a go

Who gets his spot? Well at the moment there's three backs I think should be auto selections in our team next year. Michael Gordon, Ben Pomeroy, and Nathan Gardner.

The other two spots, again at the moment, are in contention from Matt Wright, Stewart Mills, Jayson Bukuya and Sam Tagataese. I only added those two to show how little outside backs we actually have signed for next year at this stage.

Like, without any further signings or extensions, all of our outside backs are auto selections, unless Bukuya or Taga could snare the centre spot.

He's up **** creek without a paddle then... although I imagine the Sharks will have no options so will recontract him
