Let's all put our rulers and our history books away. If you stop financially supporting your club based on a decision you don't agree with that is as fickle as a player signing, then that's your call. What will you do if we have actually ****ed up re asada?

this might be so, but if you wish to cease being a financial member of the football club, then you cease your right to have a say in the clubs doings....

I will not be renewing my membership if they sign loud mouth obnoxious fergo

i read stories like this when we were in talks with Carney.

Remember he missed 4 weeks this season and was still in contention for the Dally M. Had it not been for his injuries he could well have gotten it. The original Carney haters, I see them cheering for him now

Dont have to be a member to be a supporter. But we could have a million 'fans' but if we have sub 10,000 members again, thats ammo right there to say we lack support.

I'm so sick of this crap you don't have to be a member to be a supporter. The only time its ok to be a non-member is if you go to home games and buy your ticket.

Otherwise your support means nothing, it adds no revenue, offers the team nothing. Sharknet memberships costs $70 odd dollars and can be paid off over 10 months. $7a month. Anyone who truly cares about the sharks should be at minimum putting $7 a month towards them.

I used to be a 'supporting non member'. But just seeing the emphasis this year on membership numbers, at this point the Sharks really need to justify their position in the NRL. That includes sponsors value for money. We need some solid backing. On field performance. Hopefully a top 4 berth next year will give us some genuine props for once. And a good MEMBERSHIP tally. To increase by nearly 100% this season is amazing, I hope it wasnt a matter of people trying to protect the Sharks for the season from hell. Then next year say **** it.

Im honestly gunna be disappointed with anything less than 15,000

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are denying claims they’re likely to sign Kevin Locke.

Locke’s future at the New Zealand Warriors is in doubt after they signed Super League star Sam Tomkins.

But Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle is calling the rumour just that, and says they’re working through processes to find a replacement fullback.

“We’ve got a number of ideas of how we’re going to manage this, and as I said we’re having no significant discussions with anyone at the moment.”

Raelene Castle says Kevin Locke hasn’t come into discussions at the club about a new fullback.

Should the same apply to you if it's Ayshford that scores the match winner?

More chance of fergy playing than ayshford in that scenario. My prediction is ayshford ends up a fringe grader filling in for injured centres.

I'm the same. I definitely have reservations on signing Blake but if we do I will remain a member and support the team we all love. If Blake scores a try (or several tries) while wearing our jersey I would still celebrate but I might blur my eyes a little bit so I can pretend it was someone else who scored.Haha

pretty sure he didnt say he will be handing in his membership because we signed him.

This also completely flies in the face of logic. Just because someone scores the match-winning try (let's assume his only one all season), does not equate to a talented player - it could be anyone in the given moment. If your argument was that ayshford had been leading try scorer all season...then thats different.

The Lurker - NRL Rumour File - Friday

Sharks considering options over relocation
The Sharks are considering their legal options over suggestions they will be relocated to Queensland. A board meeting on Thursday night discussed the immediate damage caused to player recruitment, finding new sponsors and selling membership. "How are we supposed to sign any players long term with all this speculation," said one board member. "How are we supposed to get new sponsors?" The board heard from chief executive Steve Noyce that the club had achieved record years for gates, sponsorship, merchandise sales and TV ratings despite the ASADA drama. The chances of the Sharks being shifted from their Cronulla home base are remote - even though senior NRL officials would love to see less teams in Sydney and more in regional areas.

Ferguson to Roosters unlikely
The Roosters have been freely linked with Blake Ferguson - but have yet to make any contact with the former Raiders bad boy's manager. Leading player manager Sam Ayoub hasn't heard a peep out of the Roosters - mainly because they don't have the money to make Ferguson an offer under the salary cap. The Roosters' plan was to offload under-performing centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall, who signed a huge contract when he was in top form three years ago, to Cronulla. But the Sharks have dropped out of the race for SKD and are leading the chase to sign Ferguson. Unless the Roosters can find a club to sign Kenny-Dowall, they won't be in a position to make Ferguson a competitive offer.
