Hi all,

As we approach Christmas, we would like to take feedback on your feelings towards the 2012 Membership Program to date. We have received a very positive response to the Program thus far. The key figures we have looked to improve on are returning favorable results to the Club. The general sentiment towards Membership at the Club seems to be that a culture of Membership is starting to emerge.

Please vote on the poll and add the following responses in order to help us gauge the Program moving forward. We have a few ideas that we will be rolling out over the next two months that we will be undertaking at the Club for the first time but your feedback is as important to us as anything.

With your responses, please include...

There is no such thing as a bad idea... unless that idea, of course, is to trade in your Shark Net Membership for a Red V Membership. That's a bad idea as far as the mighty black, white and blue are concerned. ;)

So far I've had no issues, everything has gone smoothly, and this wasn't the case in previous years.
Loved the signed letter from yourself haha.

What I would like to see next year is choice in the extras you receive with the net membership. For example I would love to opt to get a mermaids calendar, a stubbie cooler and a keyring bottle opener instead of the usual fair. This would make me buy a membership for the wife too so I can use her merchandise. At the moment the extras you get with a net membership aren't useful and if you got two in the one household they'd be even less useful. It'd also be good to opt to not receive all or part of it so the Sharks can save some money.

Another idea would be a platinum non-ticketed membership for interstate fans that includes a signed jersey or something like that.

El Coco,

My experience was very smooth and easy when compared with recent years.

One thing i did notice though that may need addressing. When i signed up my posse of 6 members 4-5 years ago it was done on one form, this meant that whilst there was contact details for all parties... only my email address had been entered in the system and mapped to an SHA member number. This meant that when i attempted to get everyone to sign up on their own this year, only i could access the online system correctly.

I'm not sure if this is an anomaly that the club may find a bit of a problem for people who signed up in groups, but it may be worth looking into.

Given the fact that i've always organised my group of people to ensure the club doesn't miss out on us and that we don't lose our seats, my approach of taking care of all of my members may have helped this occur.

If the online renewal is indeed the way of the future for the club, it might be worthwhile doing some sort of member vs email check to ensure that everyone has the correct details before renewal time. Obviously the less problems the more inclined people are to renew using the online system.

In the end i just had my people ring the club and sort it out which was easy enough.

no hassels no problem what so ever the only thing i dislike is if you havent renewed your membership by a certain date you get a call from a player, what about the ones that renewe earlier, maybe a small gift or somthing?

El Coco,
I am still yet to receive the the membership brochure in the post, although i have renewed anyway?

And im dissapointed the young bloke cant get his for Christmas, maybe there should be a benefit for early renewers that if you re sign before a certain date you can have it for christmas?

And to finish with a good note, i think the amount of gear and experiences the kids get is great. Having Oporto on board has obviously helped with this, really all the adults care about is getting in to every game. So keep up the good deals for kids as they are the most important members of all!

Cheers,

What I've Liked About The Program Thus Far:
- Better communication between club and member this year
- Better options in the membership packages. I couldn't go passed platinum this year despite the handbrake whinging about money.
- The fact that we have our own membership manager on here to answer questions is truely amazing. Well done.

What I'd Still Like To See From The Program Moving Forward:
- A confirmed date as to when memberships will be posted out to people. People complaining about christmas presents should no in advance.
- The option to pick up from the club. I will pass this on as friendly for now, but if it is sent out to me wrong, for the 4th year in a row, I will be down there anyway, but being able to pick it up and see if there are any issues with things straight away would be good to have.
- My membership card signed by Sam Tagataese.

Program so far has been great from what I can tell. Only reason I have all positive things to say about it, As because the day they became available for purchasing is pretty much the day I renewed.

Moving forward, As noted by most from years previous is the fact Membershop Packages didn't arrive & or were lost. I know that Sharks are using a mailing system now, Which should improve things, But as always, With most things, It can go wrong, So hopefully no glitches there.

Also, I think that a Membership Fan Day, as previous years is a great idea, But more advertisment for it, get it out to the entire members & public & have a massive Fan Day, Maybe a stage or something where each player is presented to the fans, let the paying members get a look at their current NRL squad. Get the players involved, I think it could work as a yearly thing where everyone looks forward to the Members Fan Day.

They were chosen at random, i renewed first or second day as well and didn't get a call from anyone. Just unlucky in that regard, but it's not a huge issue for myself.

I'd hope that the players target the younger people to be honest. Can't really imagine to many middle aged men being swayed by speaking direct to a player in regards to renewing. Could happen however...

I think the "Ask Jardz" thread here on SF is a great initiative.

Having an avenue to discuss and resolve membership issues is a real step forward.

Obviously Jardz's commitment to responding quickly to enquiries has been great and I think will reap dividends down the track.

Probably the other ingredient to that success is that it has becomes a dialogue rather than just one way flow of information.

I'd also imagine that it helps reduce the number of telephone enquiries as well.

I think the packages have been very well thought out and are comparatively very good value for money.

Better quality merch too.

I think it has definitely been a step in the right direction.

Just checked the Knights, and as long as you re-new by tonight they will have their membership package by Christmas?? Surely we could achieve this??

I've been very happy with how things have been so far. As Fitz says it is fantastic having Jardz come in here to answer questions.

There is only one thing that I'm not overly happy about and that's when we will get the members jersey. I'd love to be able to wear it all season but i'm still happy to be getting it at all.

I was just speaking to jadz to confirm a receipt as I did my renew membership over the phone on saturday (interstate to platium) and apparently the nrl system is playing up ATM, not sending out receipts or processing correctly lol.

However I said on the Facebook sharks pages only 4 days prior that I'm in the state and about to renew membership and I get a call from TC, I was Wtf..

But overall jadz fixed the problem, they need to pay him about more or advertise the ask jardz on the main sharks website!

My 4 year old daughter would prefer to have a photo with the mermaids. Come to think of it I wouldn't mind that one myself.
