2010 Captain: Who will it be?

I went with Baz as Capt with Covell as 'fill-in' Capt. Gallen is a good leader but until he keeps out of trouble he wont get a look in.

My future picks for capt would be Dougie or Tupou

I wouldn't bag you. Gallen shouldn't be captain, for obvious reasons (as you've stated). Besides, you don't need captaincy to show leadership, which Gal does so well. Let Baz do the talking and arguing with the referee.

Yep couldn't agree more GAL will still do the leader ship thing by how he plays , and let BAZ do all the talking to the refs

Yes, but what happens if there's a call against us, and Covell needs to run in all the way from the wing to speak/argue with the referee, whilst the opposition goes for a quick play?

when is the last time you seen an nrl referee let a team do a quick tap and go on the attack? was it 2001, 2002 perhaps. won't happen mate.
