So with this great victory yesterday and only one blemish on our record for 2024, are we ready to take it to the big boys yet?

We all know that while we are happy with the way we are playing at the moment, the Panthers, the Storm and the Broncos are different beasts to what we have met so far.

So do we need to do anything differently to overcome them? Or is our present style going to be enough to stifle them. We know we don't have the X factor players these teams have so how do we make up for this?
Nailed it, we are solid and playing well, but the 3 teams above, ( heck even the Raiders, Eagles), play faster, and have several absolute speed merchants out wide. IMHO this is where we get tested( speedy opposition) , plus Hynes yet to be shut down in 2024. How the '24 sharks team version default to successful plan B, is yet to be revealed

If Trindall is sat extensively it will make for a tough origin period, assuming Hynes is selected

Could be running an Atkinson and Puru/Dykes pairing in NRL.

Latest Sharkcast has a bloke from club saying Dales next year is about 300k and we def get that back (this year tbd).
Suggests Jack likely to be offered around 400s-500s and hoping he will stay for that, it would be a pay cut and less than offered elsewhere.

How much is Williams on?
****, I would have thought 400-500’s would be right

That was David Riccio from the Telegraph.

He usually has the inside on the Sharks though so I'd assume he'd know as much as any outsider.

I'd piss off it I were him. How can we offer less when his form has improved since his last contract and the cap has increased.

Tbf his current contract scaled up with the cap increase, so he has already benefitted from that.

Sounds like we’d be likely to be offering him slightly under what he has been on but potentially more than he previously signed for (before it ratcheted up)

****. It would be just HB's luck if we resign Hunt and lose Williams. He'd be ecstatic with that.

Surely what ever we have left to pay Dale this year won’t be counted?

Which would be about half and so 350k ish this year to spend also ? Assuming he was on good money this year?

If Dale has just let everyone know as its been reported then we all of a sudden have the $350ish of his 2025 contract available & you'd think around the same freed up for this yr. I'm using that to secure Jack. If things were tight they're looser now. Pay the lad.

Just read the start of the Dale thread and there's a mention of a tweet from Riccio saying that Dale's 4th year was $320k. That should be a little more with the it being ratcheted up?

Hopefully we can save Dale's money from this year too and front load a new contract for him to get through the unders we need to pay him next year.

Yeah, they were saying in the podcast mentioned that the Club were waiting for confirmation from the NRL about what the remainder of his contract for this year means under the cap.

Fingers crossed.
