yeah next season. they rank fairly high in the points system beating a few current super league teams, broncos are way down and i dont think there is any way they can stay up
So good situation for RR then? Gets a full year in Champ league then goes up?

Rumour going around - Parra are keen on Iro.

Maybe they had a light bulbs moment and finally realised what 16 other NRL teams knew before they purchaced this lemon ?

He's probably on minimum wage or close to it. Don't see what's wrong with him as depth.

Cant blame them
NSW cup centre of the year 2 years running and wont cost them the earth.
Low risk for potential high reward
Still tackles WORSE then Mozza in First Grade
Glad we didn't sign him

Yeah - I more meant that if RR isn't quite ready for Super League, then playing one year as a starter in a team slated to go up will be a good pathway for him. Even if they buy a new guy for 2025 he becomes a depth/squad player on a SL team.

They obviously don't all come back, but toiling away in Cup or in England for a few years is becoming a common pathway for NRL halves these days. The Knights have 3 blokes who did it.

Yeah it definitely seems to have been accepted by a lot of players as a good development pathway rather than just the retirement village.

Certainly not with Cogger there, he could bump Gamble potentially
I genuinely thought Gamble could kick on and become a good firstgrader. I don't anymore... disappointing, really.

Well he was playing in the halves for a team who make it past week one of the finals last year - so he's got one up on both our halves :(

Never going to be a superstar (I don’t think…) but he’s a pretty solid first grader.

If you had to cheap at 6 he’s proven he can do that well enough, otherwise as a 14 or 18 he’d make most sides.

I think his skill set is a bit to limited to go much further and be a notable NRL half

Ultimately there aren't that many "gun" halves in the NRL. Lots of teams have to make do with at least one guy who is just the right fit at the right price.

Cogger is no guarantee either. He looked great at the Panthers but he won't have the Panthers pack or the rub of the green to rely on now.

Gamble hasn't even turned into a reliable first grader. There's glimpses of natural talent occasionally but the eye test confirms why he's finding it difficult to lock down a starting role

Fair enough. He fills a role I guess. He must have had some good days during their 10 game win streak. Others before him have managed to **** up the “pass it to KP and get out of the way” game plan.
