Still can't believe they bombed that try on the right hand side, execution should be perfect by this time of the year but it seems to have peaked and steadily gone downhill.

I dunno what's happened with Bird but his form and confidence has just dropped after origin.

Earlier in the season Bird would have backed himself in there, dunno why he forced a pass that wasn't necessary.

Maybe I need to harden up, after all I don't consider myself PC, but I'll never forget a Storm supporter's comments tonight.

When Fifita was down in the first half, a scum bag shouted "The bloke with a broken neck got off the ground quicker than this"

Still can't believe my ears.

There's being over sensitive, then there's being a complete ****wit.

I try not to judge clubs on their fans because all clubs have ****wits that support them, but that's ****ing low.

Tonight was the night of the missed opportunities. So many chances to score or make a break and in the end wayward passes, dropped balls or outright poor choices cost us.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but when Koroibete tackled Holmes into touch when we had a certain try coming right before half time, I'd swear Bird made the pass so that Holmes had a shot at beating (or at least equalling) Peachey's record. Had he gone himself the game would have been (obviously) different.

And the pass for that 1st Storm try was so forward that I yelled expletives at the TV for a whole minute. Refs weren't particularly good tonight but fairly even for both teams I think. I cracked up at the "line in the sand" comment and Vossy's subsequent remarks.

It won't be easy against the Raiders but at least we know the areas that need to be worked on.
But if it's true that the NRL wants both Storm and Cows to have 7 days rest (why the finals scheduled is not already set in stone is beyond me), the team needs to regroup quickly.

Any news on Heighno, Paulo (he's gone for the year surely)?

I still think people are underselling how big a deal losing Paulo and Heighington was. We basically played with two on the bench for 50 minutes and against a physical side like the Storm, it's telling. We competed well for the first 40, but couldn't make any meters or stop the Storm forwards after that. Not to mention the Storm completion rate which meant we started 90+% of our sets just outside our 10 or 20m line.

It was a strange loss. We shot ourselves in the foot a few times, but coming up against a Storm side coming off a big home loss and playing for the minor premiership in front of a sell out crowd, I think we can get better. Win next week and we get a Sydney prelim and then hopefully play a traveling side in the GF in Sydney.

I think we can still win the comp from here. We easily matched the storm tonight but lacked the finishing touches.

Disappointing evening but much less disappointing than other journeys that I've made to that ****in cauldron

Hindsight blah blah, but I thought taking the two in the beginning was a bad idea.

We could have won tonight, a few stupid passes, a few ball bounces. All in all a better feeling than I took away from our last couple of games down here.

One drunken post:
**** didnt pan out tonight but i was still happy with where we at.
Melbourne have mastered this style for years. You need to be in front early and slow the ruck from there. I think we can only beat mrlbourne by doing the same
I cant wait for next week, i would prefer canberra as its closer to me, but i do enjoy the sfs. Either way next week will be epic and im confident.
Im really hoping birdturns a corner soon, but maloney is starting to hit next level and i feel we are going to challenge this year
Coz im not going to post again tonight, fifita has been massively hard done by publically, and its a disgrace that anyone has bought this bs excuse for journalism. Prisoners need rehab, close friends snd family are responsible for what becomes of inmates. If you deny that privilage you are feeding a massive roadblock of rehabilitation, which should be the aim of all crime. I find it sick that anyone can join a chorus of newscorp vile against this 'villian' (fifita) when they are the ones spewing thid crap. Goodnight

Poor end to a good season. Hopefully we use the disappointment of getting schooled by a clinacal professional side for some silverware as motivation to take it up a few notches for the finals.

Because atm we are letting our best shot at losing our cherry slip through our dickfingers!

The refereeing last night was so so bad it was like watching a nightmare storm off side more often than not. Their big fellas bashed us up in the ruck area with every dirty trick in the book.

Cam Smith is the ultimate grubb but allowed to get away with it.

Some of the passes chad made left to right killed us........ and Jimmy had a few as well.....I thought Fafita Gal and Prior tried their guts out .

Unlesss we can get at least two big strong forwards we will again be also rans.

Instead of playing footy like a team with nothing to lose, it's been replaced by a team with everything to lose. That wont work out well.

Chad had a shocker tonight. We was caught out in defence at least twice leading to tries and his play with bird holmes and lewy on the right side has been woeful. Not first grade standard. Hes getting caught with the ball all the time,, second guessing, he looks like hes playing with a lot of panic. His kicks for a repeat set are only ones chad knows about and hes the only one chasing.
