Thought id comment again on the thread I started ;) HI FITZY!!!

What a difference this bloke seems to have made in 2 weeks. Im seeing the sharks everywhere, community engagement meetings set up, player appearances in the off season that wouldn't have happened without him not to mention obvious efforts from the club to put together very regular updates on what is happening at the club on nearly a daily basis.

My presumption is that he has done this without spending a lot of cash, by all means correct me if im wrong on this point.

This bloke is our buy of the decade.

It's funny for me. The current miraculous turnaround for the Club is purely a lot of stuff that invested and engaged fans and supporter have been requesting for years now.

B
tw... much of the innovations described in the above links were actively thwarted by some current coaching staff who refused to allow players to be more actively engaged with the community. This has its roots in the Sticky years but was perpetuated well beyond that. If Lyall Gorman has done one thing is that he has stood up to some people who actively white-anted the relationship players and the supporters who pay their wage. Good stuff - well past time that this was dealt with.

The current board appear to have (eventually) cottoned on to the fact running a business and running a sporting team are two separate things with only a Profit and Loss statement in common.

Gorman knows what sport is about and if he is given free reign can turn the club around. The board just need to back him even if he gets offside with some staff and players.

Also maybe a bit late but if you have not listened to Lyall's interview on Triple M take a listen it really does make me confident he can do a great job.

Exactly he has just done what should of been happening already.
I think if were impressed now , we'll be lining up to blow the guy once he starts implementing the big changes.

Good interview and I think flanno should take up rab's offer about the interview

Agree - Rabs would offer him a chance to make it a warm and fuzzy affair (whether he deserves it or not).

If he lets it linger he will get hammered about it time after time.

yeah he would, I was happy to just let it be but hearing what rab's said about it I think he'd turn it into a decent piece and we can get the media off our backs regarding the whole issue, hopefully

I doubt it. People who have a bone like Kent and Weedler won't stop until they get to ask questions and get answers directly from Flanno.

Leave it and move on. I hope that's what we do.

i doubt it as well, that's why I said hopefully

The interviews I've seen with rabs he never presses a issue, if flanno was to be interviewed by anyone it would have to be rabs

Yeah agree on the Rabs thing mate. I just know those halfwits at the tele will keep going regardless though. I honestly believe time is the only thing that will get these muppets to move on. Less and less people give a toss and that will only decrease as time goes by.
