Regarding our grinding style, in the coaches defence he is well aware that the arm wrestle system only works if you have a player capable of getting points when the right opportunity presents. Without that player the whole thing has to be re assessed. I think now Carney is gone our style will change. Not dramatically, but enough.

I don't think it will change at all but lets hope you're right.

FROM OTHER FORUM : can't say I'm doing somersaults .

Arona will be here next year. Sopoaga very unlikely. Barba looking unlikey now as well.

Jono Wright just about a done deal to Superleague.

We have plenty of cap space, but the quality of players keeps getting lower and lower. We really need to move now to avoid back to back spoons.

Pleased with Arona. Like to keep Sopa. Barba I'm on the fence with.

I'll pay for Jono's cab to the airport then from Heathrow to wherever he needs to go from there.

Back to back spoons? Loosen the noose. Provided we don't cop an injury toll like 2014 again we'll be safe from the spoon. Much worse less competitive squads getting around than ours at full strenghth.

FROM THE OTHER FORUM FROM THE SAME QUALITY POSTER - In regards to Barba

That 50/50 is at board level. Split right down the middle if we want to take a chance on him or not.

I heard somewhere that Sopa is joining his brother in NZ Rugby.

Absolutely crazy if they don't jump at Barba. Run the club like a professional organisation and they will be able to keep Barba out of trouble and bingo you hare a Dally m winning quality player.

I can understand the board being split - I am myself.

All player's form is affected by how happy and confident they are, but for Barba it seems all or nothing. He's either happy and winning the Dally M, or when he's off he's hardly NRL standard and it all spirals outta control quickly. Only this time last year it was imperative that he be in Brisbane with his family. He got that and played like **** until he moved to 5/8 where he started too at least justify his position in first grade.

I have no doubt the kid can play. I have doubts if he can live away from his family and whether we're up to the challenge of keeping his **** in order.

Barba should only be happy if he's improving our chances at winning a premiership

I ask again, what exactly are we holding onto? We are at rock bottom

I see more good than bad in a Ben Barba signing
Carney ****ed up eventually and caused the club some short term embarrassment but if we could go back in time I would do it all again and still sign him. He played a big role in getting us into 2 finals series

Nice guy nuffies with no baggage just doesn't cut the mustard when it comes to winning games and being a force

Then you will be bitterly disappoint even if he doesn't come.

This club has a trophy cabinet full of bad headlines, just busting to become public
