I'm not saying yes because of his name,

Read my above post I think it's a couple of very good reasons
-.- im not saying you said yes because of his name.
Im saying its an assumption that most people are due to a lack of a supporting argument.

passed his prime - wouldn't compliment carney's style of play as opposed to a more stable structured no 7 (eg cronk) ... and we desperately need some speedy backs first and foremost..

maybe would have a marketing apsect to it as he was popular but enough of this tiger shark bull****!

Yes. He would also be great for our image. Massive ego problems as everyone knows though.

You would think the money we have left in our cap we would most likely be able to offer him the best deal
I can see him coming, hook up with his old tigers mates, I still don't want him

I've heard about his ego... But I rekon we have enough old heads and smart switched on young blokes who would keep it in cheque for him.... Imagine if the corporate dollars followed him here.... It's a gamble I'll say yes too...

If we have money to buy him, why not throw some money at a couple juniors coming up through the ranks.

I can see our recruitment banner in the future.

"Come to Cronulla - a great place to retire".

This - at least when we have juniors worth keeping - which we currently do

apparently Valentine Holmes is a done deal for 3 more years. This is happening. The first grade cap space isnt going to matter too much.

Jmo is gunna retire, if Robbo shifts to his spot and Benji plays in his, then next years cap looks no different, except for the other guys we lose.

Storm will find 400k, easy offload Rosie a bit of creative accounting and he will be down here with bells on..

Storm can still do what they like. The NRL want a strong team down there and will happily turn a blind eye to some creative accounting.
