All the BS on here about family first! Of course he has to consider that, but it's not that simple. So he takes an extra 400k over 4 years, which is only 240k after tax. Makes sense? But what if he doesn't settle in there and the environment isn't right? Then his next contract takes a hit because his form dropped off and the extra 240k is gone anyway and he left an environment that made him great for nothing. It's a dumb move to leave. There are lots of NRL players who have taken pay cuts to stay in good environments and it works out for them. Corey Parker? I reckon Cam Smith is about to do it.
Looking out for your family is not just about the size if your pay cheque, it's about being happy.
I think he is making an error. He fails to see the link between how much everything is going his way and which club he is playing for.
