Hi mate, I was of course fully aware of all the information and reports that led to the decisions to sack people and the board was unified on those decisions . There was substantial angst and concern about it but legal advice was very clear and despite the horrible timing, action was taken when it had to be, not put off until an easier or more convenient time - tough decisions - knowing also they would be unpopular decisions
I can't comment on motives of the unity ticket, I do in all honesty really feel uneasy that so many of them had to hasten their memberships in order to be eligible , mainly because where I come from and have been loving this club and acting in its best interests is a 24/7 365 days a year passion , I can't understand why their help , assistance and contacts haven't been provided or offered over 4 years of hell and me personally knocking on on hundreds if doors to gain support financially
I don't know about dirty tactics but they are obviously taking a negative approach in terms of putting me and others down rather than being positive in their campaign .
I honestly think dunphy , keogh and a boldeman would be awesome additions to the board . Craig Douglas is and will continue to be more important to the club than Paul gallen - fact. Craig Nd I have been partners in this from day one, we work very well together and get results, that's why I genuinely want to act as a director and continue that work with the help of new experience and energy .
I was disappointed in myself re the tele " interview" also Matthew , I've admitted as much and resigned for the chair as a result , I'm not sure what more I can add to that other than everyone I'd accountable and is be a hypocrite if I didn't apply same to Myself as the head if the club.
I was overseas on a consulting role I had already deferred for 4 weeks due to club issues, I haven't missed a meeting or club business in 4 straight years. I wish I was here but timing couldn't have been worse , no one feels more gutted bout that than I do.
End of the day I see An opportunity here to get a wonderfully balance and fresh board to build on what is a very very strong foundation .
We can argue all day the toss about hr and structure decisions in the footy dept, but the fact is we are very lucky as a club to even have a footy club to staff and structure. The future of our club is sound and the people involved transient, myself included.
