Look past your fanboy glasses for once.

I can say whatever i want about anyone, my criticism is open to every player and everyone on the coaching staff regardless. Just like everyone bags out pom, and stapo and our backline, just because he is our lord and saviour paul gallen doesnt mean hes ****ing perfect.

Stop being a bunch of sheep and open your eyes and your opinions.

Yeah look at the all the effort they put in and still couldnt win.

Or he could of put tiem and effort into trying to win the first preimership for cronulla.

Stop trolling please.

The first premiership isn't going to happen this year, even with Gal. Never was.

We have over achieved this year already.

While not actually knowing for sure, from the outside looking in it did seem leading up to origin and then through the series that Gallen was totally focused on origin. Im 99.% sure i remember him or Flanno saying something like they were resting him for a club game so he would be right for origin 2 or 3 if i remember correctly. While i can understand that he would be commited to captaining an origin victory for those of us who dont really give a **** about origin and just support the sharks it sucks watching our captain and best player putting all his efforts into NSW and for lack of a better word neglecting the Sharks.

a logical and respectable post.

Your exactly right mate, i really hope he learns a lesson from all this ****.

I hope he is enjoying sitting on the sidelines watching his team struggle.

I havnt seen any other player struggle this hard from origin. Hell i havnt even seen someone put so much effort into origin (and ****ing lose as well). It just ****s me, couldnt he have at least won? lol

Your the only one trolling mate, your the only one talking **** about our Captain. Your trying to hard to get people to bite.

I'll give you an A for effort but a D+ for execution. I mean you have been beating this dead horse since origin, move on and try something new.
Bird signing with the Sharks is always a good one!

Watch the questionable kick off agin - Simmons I think is a good metre across the line before the kick is taken . And where was the ref ? Looking directly at him about 2 metres away - *******

Another one of the forgotten rules of Rugby League. It pisses me off no end. It's just one of those rules that they refuse to enforce for some reason. It's usually even worse for drop outs.

This is part of the reason why the refereeing is so bad at the moment. They let things like this slip for so long that when it becomes critical they are hesitant to blow the whistle because they know the same infringement has already occurred 7 or 8 times in the same game...

The referees (or their advisers) bring these controversies on themselves by refusing to rule on blatant breaches in general. It might not matter if a guy is offside by a metre when the ball goes 50, but it makes a big difference when the ball only goes 10. For consistency reasons they need to rule on them all. It might seem like they are being pedantic, but if the start to enforce the laws of the game all the time, then players will be less likely to take liberties.

Anyone on here who is bagging Paul Gallen needs to have a long, hard look at themselves. This bloke has done everything for our Club, he bleeds black, white and blue. He could have easily have left the Sharks for another club on more money (from memory, Manly were offering him $80K more a season a few years back.) Not only that, he has been instrumental in bringing players to our Club that we otherwise wouldn't have attracted. Don't imagine for a minute that a player like Luke Lewis would sign here without Gallen.

If you want to be angry, as I have said from my very first post here, get angry at the the ridiculous State of Origin concept. It is to blame for Gallen being out. It is a ridiculous, three game money making exercise that has been hyped way beyond it's relevance. It has been put above the premiership by the NRL because it rates through the roof and is seen as "the jewel in the crown" and the key to a big TV deal.

To put it in the middle of the season and make the games best players beat the tripe out of each other for not one, but three, games is ridiculous. It should be treated like the NFL All Stars game - a one off game at the end of the year.

Gallen is the ultimate competitor, he has been put under massive pressure to win this series, by both the media and the public, and he has responded to that accordingly. I wouldn't have expected anything less from him.

Let's just hope we get Gallen back at his best before Origin ruins what was a promising season for us.

I can't believe people are actually whinging about Paul Gallen's commitment.

Well, bugger me.

That absolutely confirms that some people will never be pleased. I’ve heard it all now.

Rubbish talk. Genuine rubbish talk. Utterly disrespectful and repulsive.

Just a comment on Stapo.

I swear he had an opportunity to score if he actually decided to go for the corner instead of crapping himself and going infield. Could have been the difference in the end.
And lets not forget about the kick off that went out on the full, every time this happens it absolutely does my head in!

F me. One job stapo. One job.
Don't rate him as a player at all..

Slide rule, iron shark et all.....

no one doubts Gallen's commitment to the club. We all know he has sacrificed a lot, including real cash, to be with us. I can only speak for my own feelings about this (not others). I dont blame Gal for being injured. He needs to get over his injury and then play. No question about that. I, for one, do not beleive he should have played over the weekend given his injury.

What is very, very, very disappointing is the whole situation. Gal played injured in the second and third origin games. So much so that he wiped himself out of the sharks 2012 season. He wanted to captain an origin victory. That was the commitment he showed. He did not let NSW down and played 80 minutes (literanlly on one leg by the end). In his worst nightmares he would not have thought that it was, potentially, the last time he plays this season. But the simple fact is that it may have been. Just like I do not want him to play injured for us, he should not have played injured for NSW. He should have known better but his competitiveness and the bull-dust around SOO got the better of him. I would be surprised if, given a similar situation next year, he would make the same mistake.

This is not an issue of laying blame on one person (and both he, our club and the SOO coaching staff are to blame). The fact is, especially after the weekend, we are all very, very frustrated and disappointed. That is all.

I have followed our club for many years. There have been many disappointements and mistakes along the way. This is just another one. The Gallen-SOO scenario was a manageble problem. A professional group would have managed it differently. If you would have spoken to Flanno two weeks ago (and we were already at desperate stages then), he would have told you the same.

Lumpy....respectfully, this has been our problem for, at least, the last 23 years (I exclude the 88-89 team...and many of our 70's teams). I expect more from our team. Full stop. I dont need to appologise for it, nor should you or anyone else. We certainly have the team to make the 8, even the 4. This may not even happen because we may end up not winning our last 9 games. losing 9 in a rown is not over achieving, neither is making the 8.

The quicker we stop thinking like the poor cousins with an inferiority complex the more chance we are of cracking one of the longest droughts in the history of international sport!!! think about that....internaltional sport.

Ultimately our team should be able to win without Gallen and the experience they've gained playing without him will be invaluable in our finals race and next year.

Of course if we miss the finals that sucks but dems the breaks.

Sharks screwed by refs again - what else is new?

The bottom line is that we've put in rubbish performances the last 4 weeks and we've been punished for it. Play better and we win.
