Thats bull****e and typical from the bloody Gestapo, where's the ref lovers now - they just made another massive stuff up with that non-forward pass!

Who are the ref lovers Henchmann?

fergo was absolutely robbed. 44-22 in my book, not that it makes any difference.

TBH I only watched the second half, but I saw the highlights of the first. So my (significantly impaired) thoughts:

Positives
Nice to see Gordon and Vave get their first tries- and Gordon's was an absolute cracker. Everyone enjoyed that yeah?

Also loved Gordon's try-saver on Folau, great tackle in off his wing.

When Smith gets some decent ball and gets involved, he looks a bit like Scott Prince. Good try.

Vave looked like he played more minutes, and good ones.

Brod Wright tried hard and his carries were better than I expected.

Negatives
Barrett ended up making the kick too often. Smith's the better kicker, he needs to have the ball on the last.

Dropped the footy too much.

Whenever Lockyer got the ball on the right and engaged a couple of defenders, Brisbane looked like they were going to score through either Thaiday or Folau. Reason: Tautai. He either needs to swap with Fergo or we bring in Matt Wright. He's just not a centre at this level- he could play wing or second row, but not centre.

Pom missed some tackles and Brisbane looked dangerous down his edge. *EDIT: Pom made some horrible defensive decisions as well. What to do, what to do with our centres.

Whenever McCullough got the ball at dummy half and ran they looked like scoring. It was the same problem as against manly last week- we lost that middle third of the ground in attack and in defence and thus had no control over the game. Brod Wright's miss that led to a try in the 2nd half was a good example, atrocious. This has to be our focus for the rest of the year- winning that middle third in attack and defence.

Injuries. What's the damage? Did I hear the commentators say something about Snowy??? Who else?

Snowden - Ankle - returned and played the rest of the game
Aiton - Side/ribs? - Contact injury apparently not serious and could have returned to the game
Cordoba - Dislocated right elbow - looked serios should be a month if its just the disslocation if more damage it could be season ending.

i think that is all..

Did you notice that all the teams that were one from five to begin the season actually won this round, except for one notable exception!!!!!!!

I went up to Club Menai to watch the game today and for the first time that I can remember, I left at half time. I was absolutely disgusted by the effort in defence from our players - our attack actually didn't look too bad at times but our defence was very brittle and not up to first grade standard.

There is going to have to be a great deal of improvement to beat the Knights next week even though it is at home. We need a big turnaround. I don't know if sacking Ricky is the answer but it seems quite obvious that he is finding it harder and harder to get the players up for each game which is the main function of a coach. We do have class players in this side, we can match it with other teams but I don't think the player's hearts are in it. You would think that last weeks capitulation against Manly would give them enough motivation to stop tries this week but unfortunately no.

I think it was easily the worst 40 minutes we have played in the last three years, with the possible exception of the Tigers game last year at home.

NRL Sharks Outclassed By Broncos

NRL Sharks Outclassed By Broncos

Brisbane Broncos outclassed Cronulla 44-16 at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday but two of the Sharks' brightest youngsters still finished the game with smiles on their faces.

Winger Isaac Gordon and prop Siosaia Vave both posted their maiden tries in the top grade – a marvelous experience in front of over 25,000 fans at rugby league's best venue.

The Broncos were far too strong, scoring eight tries to three, but there were plenty of positives for the Sharks, who won the second half and showed a lot of attacking enterprise.

Injuries continue to dog the Sharks, with forwards Josh Cordoba (dislocated elbow), Paul Aiton (back) and Kade Snowden (leg) all casualties.

The Sharks showed some stubborn resistance early and nearly came up with the opening try after just two minutes when centre Ben Pomeroy put in a grubber kick and looked set to regather it.

But a desperation dive by Broncos fullback Josh Hoffman saved the day for the home side and Brisbane scored the opening try soon afterwards when centre Michael Gillett crashed over.

Backed by a healthy home crowd on a perfect autumn afternoon, the Broncos got on a roll and posted three tries in 10 minutes through prop Dunamis Lui, Gillett again and back-rower Ben Te'o as they bolted to 20-0.

To make matters worse, centre Israel Folau, coming back from injury, struck twice in there minutes late in the half as the Broncos charged to 32-0 at the break.

The Sharks struck back immediately after the resumption, with halfback

Tim Smith fooling the Broncos with a smart dummy and crossing over wide out.

Fullback Nathan Stapleton's conversion gave the traveling fans some hope at 32-6.

But the Broncos put paid to any thoughts of a miracle Sharks win with quick-fire tries to back-rower Sam Thaiday (52nd minute) and fullback Josh Hoffman (57th minute) to extend their lead to 44-6.

Rookie winger Gordon then produced a moment of magic to notch his first NRL try – and a touchdown he'll never forget.

A fine prospect, Gordon burst through a gap deep inside Sharks territory and bolted 80 metres to score, leaving the defence far behind.

Vave then scored the final try, barging over from close quarters and jumping to his feet in delight.

Where did our defence go? Honestly. Not only was our goal-line defence horrible but what about down the middle of the field? We weren't moving up to them, just letting them build speed and do whatever they wanted. We had to move up and put the pressure on them! That being said, the only couple of times we did do that in the game we were penalised. What was with Smith's kicking today? What a lame game, the only people who played well were our wingers.

I missed three quarters of the first half and saw the rest in northies so it was 20 - 0 before i tuned in.
i was actualy excited when we were attacking in the second half (hasnt happened for a long time) gordons try was great!
just need to hold on to the football and not give away stupid penaltys, it will come.

also, how can our defence go from one of the best in the league to absolute shiet house?

Ricky Stuart: "We've been training heaps on our attack aye. Like 90% of our training is attack because the news papers keep saying we can't attack and that I can't coach attacking football. I'll just take our defence for granted even though half of our team is new and hasn't worked together before and probably needs to be coached on defensive structure as a team. She'll be right mate".

In this day and age the best attack is a good defence. Our defence is shot to ****. I have no doubt that our attack is good enough. If we have 60% of the ball we put points on like the best of them. It's the defence that's killing us. I think this is even worse than last year because we at least didn't let in so many soft tries last year.

Don't forget to take your camera and get some crowd shots.

Apologies fitz, I left without seeing this reminder, not that it matters because I don't have a camera.

Advertised crowd figure is just over 25000. Most of the lower tier seats were filled up with a few supporters on the upper tier. I can't tell you whether I believe that figure is accurate as I have no real basis of comparison, apart from the cricket games at the SCG i went to earlier in the year, where i have forgotten the attendance figures at those games.

They have an average crowd figure of over 40000 this year so it would have been pretty impressive to go to the stadium with those attendance numbers.

Toupu & Barrett are major disappointments. We should be planning to get rid of both them!

I thought Barrett played pretty decently, despite a couple of average kicks. He should definatly be gone by the end of the year but we need him in our side until then.

Tupou seemed quiet.

the broncos are playing well tho

The Broncos did play well enough to beat us. They identified a weakness early on and kept exploting it. That weakness being our right side defence. So many overlaps emerged, and that had so many other opportunites to score through there. I don't know how to solve this problem on Fergo and Pomeroy's wing.... Maybe there are faults closer to the middle of the defensive line which is causing overlaps that Pomeroy and Ferguson arn't at fault for.

Then we over-compensatied later in the first half, and then they scored in the other side a few times.

Our 2nd half was much better, which i think is a combination of the Broncos slackening off and us lifting our game.

Players I thought played well: Aiton, Douglas, Ferguson (in attack, that is one formatible fend!), Gallen (but is not a playmaker!), Gordon, Smith, Stapleton (its nice having a fullback that can catch!) and Vave.

We dropped way to much ball, gave away way to many penalties. Saying that I think the referees are way too pedantic in the ruck.

Geez, Cordoba's injury looked nasty didn't it!

excuse the balls up..listening to the fox commentators without watching the game is not a good idea..cant get names right and cant get a half score right

Why were you listening to the fox commentators without watching the game?
