Originally had drinky/paps but had the coin left for Ponga so decided to risk him.

Have the storms young fullback in my CTW reserves in case Papi goes down early as well but not sure if having guys unlikely to make rd1 teams in extended squad is a good strategy or not.

Saw Toby Sexton was named in nsw cup trial at 7 this week so feel a little more confident about having hutcho in the backline now.

**** me I'm already addicted to this crap and the season hasn't even started yet!
Fa'alongo or however you spell it isn't a bad option if he doesn't make the 17. You're hoping he plays at some point, but at worse can swap him out if a better cheapie becomes available at bottom dollar.

Where it will hurt is if he's named on the bench and is scoring 10-20 points a game. He won't make money, but will be a pain there.

I think you could have max one guy like that (him or Iro for example) but ideally I’d say have none.

He’s so easy to bring in if you need to later, you could be making a little money on someone in the meantime. And who knows what’ll happen, could get two runs at the end of the year only.

I’d only do it if it absolutely could not see myself without everyone else and I already have every cheapie I consider viable.

It's football fan crack. The first round is free...

I was thinking along your Paps line too. I think it'll come down to how many starting cheapies there are with any sort of job security, as you don't want to carry non-scoring players if you can help it (well, maybe one for the captain loophole). They just become trades you'll resent later.

I'm in on Paps if he kicks goals, otherwise I'm going Turbo and Ponga.

Cronulla Sharks vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, 8pm AEDT at Belmore Sports Ground

Sharks team:
1. William Kennedy 2. Sione Katoa 3. Jesse Ramien 4. Siosifa Talakai 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Braydon Trindall 7. Nicho Hynes 8. Oregon Kaufusi 9. Blayke Brailey 10. Royce Hunt 11. Briton Nikora 12. Teig Wilton 13. Cameron McInnes 14. Jack Williams 15. Jesse Colquhoun 16. Toby Rudolf 17. Thomas Hazelton 18. Tuku Hau Tapuha 19. Mawene Hiroti 20. Kayal Iro 21. Billy Burns 22. Daniel Atkinson 23. Jayden Berrell 24. Niwhai Puru 25. Kade Dykes 26. Chris Vea’ila

Analysis: Braydon Trindall, Nicho Hynes, Royce Hunt and Briton Nikora are back from All Stars duties while Ronaldo Mulitalo, Blayke Brailey, will Kennedy, Jesse Ramien and Toby Rudolf have been named after being rested last week. Veteran forward Dale Finucane will enjoy another week off.

Bulldogs team: 1. Blake Taaffe 2. Blake Wilson 3. Bronson Xerri 4. Stephen Crichton 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Matt Burton 7. Drew Hutchison 8. Max King 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Poasa Faamausili 11. Viliame Kikau 12. Jacob Preston 13. Jaeman Salmon 14. Kurt Mann 15. Samuel Hughes 16. Josh Curran 17. Kurtis Morrin 19. Kitione Kautoga 20. Eli Clark 21. Toby Sexton 22. Jeral Skelton 23. Joash Papali’i 24. Bailey Hayward 25. Bailey Biondi-odo

Analysis: Coach Cameron Ciraldo has made a call on where he’ll play Stephen Crichton with the marquee recruit named in the centres. That means Blake Taaffe keeps the No.1 jersey for now. It looks like Drew Hutchison has won the halfback race as he gets the nod again to start alongside Matt Burton, but Toby Sexton has been included on the bench. Superstar second-rower Viliame Kikau will get his first game of 2024.
I'm pretty interested in seeing how Taaffe goes at fullback. And Kikau in his return.

Looks like Turuva picked up an injury this morning as well.

Do we think Jesse McLean comes in on wing if he's out for rd1?

So we have to lock in our teams in the next few days right? After the Vegas squads are named, but we just have to guess about which cheapies are going to be named for the second week of round 1?
