While some players might slacken off with a contract extension I think it will actually settle Hunt down a bit and let him focus
He has been a borderline top 17 player up until last season and has had some shaky outings this year. Hopefully will continue to build on his last couple games performances - I am a fan. I want to see him be a consistent power forward for us

Not really, club was always going to be negotiating with multiple players at once.
Royce is alot more likely to take the first offer the club makes. Teig has multiple clubs chasing him and more power in negotiations.

More than happy to keep the crew together and Royce be a part of that. The stability at the club and our side at the moment is looking very good. Such a big difference to 10 years ago!
Agree with the others, club can speak to more than one person at once. It's not a 'good' sign Royce was done before Teig, but not alarm bells either. With Royce already being with us next year if he wanted to be it was probably a simpler negotiation.
Was player option for next year.

2024 was an option in his favour.
This is a win for both sides. He gets an extra year and the Sharks get a better understanding of their cap position. Player options are not ideal for the club to be able to plan.
Glad he is sticking around.

Royce Hunt is not in the best form atm but in general he's a very good player & I really like he's just re-signed for another 2 years. We've got a few good props when they are all fit. When all props are fit, Rudolph, Kaufusi, Uele, Hunt & Hazelton.
