I’d be surprised if he only signs for 1 year , I think from a Sharks perspective it works, maybe a CO but it covers us with Dykes.

He’s going to want more job security than a one year deal.

Question is how many clubs would offer him a longer deal

Yeah 1 year is ideal for us. But as I've said, and you have, he'll definitely agitate for more.

If he won't budge are we prepared to say bye bye and go with Dykes next year?

Big call.

Dykes‘ injury and not being able to play and develop this season certainly throws a scanner in the works.
I like WK and think there is a good footballer there. I personally think a 2 year deal works and gives KD time next year to get up to full speed again and challenge WK for the FB position.

competition for spots is healthy for the team

Do young kids these days know what a scanner is? 🙂

you are correct, we have only offered will a one year deal

this covers dykes and gives us a look at another fullback
It's probably the best thing for him in the long run. Enough farting around in the middle of the fullback pack, let's see him back at his best and pushing to cement his spot. He's got a lot of potential.

Just need one. Dragons most likely.

Can we Welsby over here? Dykes getting injured is so unlucky.

That hip drop tackle on Will late last season certainly threw a spanner in the works for him.

Came back underdone and looked a worse player than he is.

Maybe he should take the gamble and sign a 1 year deal, or even delay negotiations until he's had a chance to prove himself again.

I like Will K, I do think he is a good fullback, I just think Dykes will be better. A one or two year deal is appropriate. One with a club offer for two would be ideal.

If Kennedy is such a good player why isn’t he in demand? Why are hardly any clubs showing any interest in him? And why is he only getting offered a 1 year deal from us?

Who said nobody is showing interest in him? I am sure nobody here would actually know this for sure. I have no doubt he would find another contract if he did not re-sign.

Yes, it's a strange way to make a point, unless someone has one of those new fandangle Kennedy-interest-detectors of course.

Being on this forum for some time now, you both should know that Gumby is the all time King of transfer and new signing knowledge and all information from the clubs goes through him first.

No one has enquired of him about Kennedy so what he says totally makes perfect sense.

Yep, so there won’t be a lot of teams fighting to sign him.
