According to NRL RULES

“Dangerous Contact – Head/Neck” – means misconduct on the part of a Player constituted by carelessly, recklessly or intentionally making dangerous contact with the head or neck of an opposing player;

It doesnt actually sepcify how the contact is made or by what body part etc. Maybe that's why the charge?
It wasn't intentional but NRL will argue it was either a) Careless or b) Reckless

Ive just never seen anyone get suspended for an accidental head clash ever. Intentinal head clash , i.e head butt yes.
This will be very interesting.

Potentially sets a precedent to charge any medium head clash
Which also gives the NRL an interesting point to determine - are you allowed to recklessly or carelessly make head to head contact with a teammate? Surely player safety would say no.

Interesting points of view from Fitler and Joey

Watching again through that Crichton see's Dale coming and instead of continuing on his line he kind of props and lowers on the spot a little.
So while Dale came out full force and doesn't change any argument about extent of the contact Dale's expectation was that Crichton would keep moving a certain way and when that didn't happen an accidental headclash resulted

I think its all about the injury. If Dale had of split himself open or knocked himself out too i think he probably doesn't get charged.,
Or as they say in video, Crichton gets up with two ears and it's play on

Something that'd rile up twitter and reddit softies occurred so someone must pay a heavy cost.

Maybe Sharks rolling the dice .
2 weeks is Rabbits / Dragqueens
3 week means Tigers game .
Might as well GO FOR IT !
ALSO , if not proven reckless ( lesser contact ) reckless gets dismissed altogether ?

Charge is dangerous contact I think so it is either is dangerous contact or it isn't
We aren't contesting grading so as far as I am aware that doesn't come into it either way (ie lesser contact)

According to Ivan Cleary on news tonight, 2-3 weeks is warranted. No mention of Kikau's shoulder charge though. No wonder more and more people are disliking the Panthers.

Not to mention Yeo's swinging arm when Moylan scored.

Legit came over the top and hit flush.

Moylan should look at Feldt. Stay down should of dropped the ball after impact for a penalty try.

I remember when Australia v Italy in the World Cup soccer and the bloke took a dive and footy boys saying what a weak ****.

Now look at the diving in the sport

You reckon they passed the iffy grounding as to not have to drift down the penalty try route?
