Just got home from the game. Very impressed with the sharks first half. A decent turn out 3,500 attending. The sharks staff have a lot of work to do before round 2. Massive line up to get In With only the western entry open. Food trucks struggling to keep up with demand.
Only 1 beer stand on the eastern side now the bar is closed under the Peter burns stand. Pouring cans into cups takes twice as long. Hopefully they can work it out as hearing there will be 12,00 for the eels game.
Stoked to be back at shark park.

How many combined games do we think TPJ and Hetherington will miss this year haha.

TPJ was lucky that the ref was in a forgiving mood. Could easily have been sent off for the entire game when he came back for an extra chat after being told he was sinbinned.

I thought it was a solid & encouraging hit out last night but lets wait until we face a real contender before getting too excited. The dogs were disappointing & disjointed & we did get a couple of lucky bounces.

It seemed to be a Sharks tactic right from the beginning not to move up quickly on the attacking side so we need to see how that goes against a fast & organised outfit .

It was great to see the effort from Fifita to show he is a viable option for the 17 as needed.

Most impressed with the improved efforts from Hunt , Nikora , Brailey & Trindall (certainly better than his 2 prior hitouts) given they played good minutes . Finucane was solid , played an organising role & made some tough runs but is not a tackle buster whilst Nicko provided good direction in attack & solid in defence.

In the cameo roles Hazelton was Tolman like until his head knock but Berrell after a couple of trials still has a problem with forward passes.

Is it too simplistic to say:

- last week we played the premiers and got beat by 30

- this week we played the wooden spooners and won by 30?

So we are smack bang middle??
Hopefully we are a little higher than that at the backend of the season (maybe 6th)

I like this version better mate, if you don't mind:
- last week our rookies were beaten by Penrith's rookies.
- This week our first grade team beat another first grade team by 30.

Yes because we lost to the premiers missing pretty much everyone. That game just showed Penriths juniors are better than ours.

This week's game showed we should be much better than the Dogs. Did Dogs really have any players out of that game ? We had no McInnes, Talakai and Rudolf.
