This shouldn't be under estimated. Against the warriors our forwards were being bashed up the middle all game - most halves would've struggled, let a lone a guy with less than a dozen 80 minute games. Plus as much as Connor is all heart - he's no 5/8.

Yep Lodge & AFB looked like Webcke & Civo against a minnow nation at a World Cup.

This guy has a bit of talent I can see, got good potential but he didn't have his best game today, at the end of the game though if someone was there supporting him we may have got through.

This kid has waaaaay to responsibility on his shoulders.

He looks to go well in defence but he's struggling handling the organisation and attack by himself.

Also, I saw a bit of a blow up at Kennedy after Trindall made that break and Will was late.

He's not very fast off the mark. It seems to take some effort to try and get going when he's attempting to create something along the line.

Cant believe all the crap he’s getting.

Yes I know once I didn’t rate him but only because, embarrassingly I was looking for a supstar.

If you’re looking for that you’ll be disappointed.

He desperately needs some experience and leadership around him.

Right now he’s not getting any of that.

Thought he did okay today, considering the team he is playing with. Talakai in the centres, fifita and Billy on the bench. Connor at 5/8 and we were still in the game.

Last week I was put off him, but got to remember he's a kid still playing in a position that he needs time to develop in.

I agree, there is no leadership nor experience around him on the field. Tracey looks like a fish at 5/8th and Metcalf can't do much with only 15-20 mins.

Hopefully we have a quality halves coach coming to help develop Trindall and Metcalf.

My biggest critique is he takes too long to get to his kick. Struggles with pressure from distance and really struggles to roll it into the in goal for a repeat set.

Put a beauty in and Ponga danced around Uele and someone else to make it all the way to the 10

What did we all expect?
He’s finding his way in FG, this includes the speed of the game, intensity & the coaching, every week he is coming up against a side that has a pro coach & coaching staff who’d be doing video on him in the week lead up, where he’s not up to FG level etc etc.

He may not end up being a regular FG 7 but it’s way too early to write him off or make that call yet due to so many factors,
how our forwards are going,
who’s our 6
who’s doing the majority of our organising, it’s him, big ask considering his come into a team which is not a strong roster & which is lacking senior leaders for several reasons.

The facts to this point are-

Been given limited opportunities this far in FG as a 7
Yes, he’s made errors but he’s shown elements to his game to suggest he has natural talent
Come into a team lacking leadership & yet to identify what is our DNA as a team
The team are in a transitional period of coaching & players coming & going
He is paired with a rookie 6
He is 90% of the time our main kicker & organiser
He has been a influential player in lower grades, not that’s a gaurantee to be so in FG but he’s proven, once in a system he can deliver & mix it with his teammates & opposing teams.

I’m happy to at some point concede he’s not the answer but c’mon, let’s be real people.

I was at the game. He had some poor touches, but a couple of positives…

His defence today was outstanding. They sent a lot of traffic his way and he stood up to it.

It was he and Billy who put on the shift to get them down the right end late and tackle the Knights 1m out. 2 penalties later the Knight were in front, but that shouldn’t take away from the good play to get them there.

Maybe you can confirm this too mate since you were there but he seemed to get a lot of crap passes from our dummy half. Not just Brailey but whoever was there.

Seemed like he was always having to gather the ball from a height rather than it going into his chest.

That would account for the lack of time preparing for a kick.

Better than last week but still below par for what we need out of him if he’s going to be given the 7 jumper next season.

Yeah. I think that is fair comment. Sharks were also on the back foot much of the second half.

Brailey’s running game was top notch yesterday, but he is obviously struggling with all of the chopping and changing in the halves. Tracey in particular doesn’t run on to the ball sometimes, so Brailey passes it two metres in front of him, it hits the deck, and everyone screams “**** pass”.
