I was listening to a podcast the other day with Cameron Smith and he said that the days of the big hits are pretty much over as they are too risky.
His style was to run up quickly and basically grab the runner chest height to slow down and wrap ball up and let the B and C defenders bring the player down.
This also used less energy than trying to do a big ball and all smash.
Or we could put velcro on there shorts and some strip's of material hanging off them....
