I would happily drop anyone from this current side the way we are playing if we had a potential replacement looking for a crack.

If a player has signed elsewhere it would probably make the decision even easier. Especially if looking to the future in certain positions.

Unfortunately though with all our injuries we don’t really have the luxury of experimenting with much at all.

For me, if that is happening it should start in round 16 when development list players become available. Pick the best 17 available until round 15.

Why wait till rnd 16 though - we could at least get a start on one position the 7 giving Trindal a go and then come rnd 16 it's one less inexperienced player to throw in raw at the same time, more of a phased staggered approach if you will

Bunnies, Dragons, Titans, Panthers (2 days after origin), Cowboys, Broncos, Warriors, Raiders, Bulldogs

As poorly as the team is playing right now, they are still just 4 points out of the 8, and nearly all of their upcoming games are against teams around them.

Pick the best 17 until the finals are not a reality. Plenty of teams have put on a good showing in the finals after just scraping in. I’m not suggesting the Sharks are going to compete for the trophy, but winning 6-7 of those next 9 would put them solidly in the finals race.

If they are sitting on 10 points or less going in to round 16, bring on the development.

I know everything seems dark and hopeless atm, but they just had to play the two best teams on the comp back to back - both away - while missing a bunch of players. The team also would have won the Bulldogs game comfortably with a pair of actual NRL wingers, and lost to Newcastle on a Hail Mary play. In two weeks you should see a team with Talakai, Katoa, Mulitalo all in. Those 3 could make a big difference.

If you’re talking about me, id be fine with toby going back to the jets - he probably needs a stint there anyway

Not specifically. He is just massively over rated on here.

He was awful last week. Should have been hooked. Couldn’t have tackled my Nana.

So far 11 people have voted in the 3-2-1. 9 of them gave Toby points.

There was one play where someone went straight through Toby while Kennedy was defending in the line. Magoulias made a desperate tackle and saved a try. Cue the “Toby’s the only one trying. Magoulias offers nothing” comments.

I agree those games were tough mate but we just didn't try. At least that's the way it looked to the fans. First half against Storm was OK I guess but after that they just weren't interested.

The opposition had a say in it too mate. They were just too good when we have them a sniff - and that’s the NRL now. Get on a roll and you can put on points quickly.

Only carrying one 20+ minute forward on the bench doesn’t help.

Get our wingers back, and a few big boppers on the bench, and we will definitely win some games.

If we’ve learned anything these past few weeks we’ve learned how important good wingers are. Missing Katoa and Mulitalo has been a killer. Not bagging Hiroti or Tracey, but Katoa and Mulitalo are on another level as far as finishing goes.

Article today mentions we might look at Trindall as our long term half back. He's no Reynolds but he'll be a third the price and isn't much worse than what else is available now.

And if he's not what we need we go looking for a half back for 2023. Till then we fill the other missing pieces. Namely a much better forward pack and centres, and a fullback but sounds like we're keeping Kennedy too.

Yep - and not just finishing. I don't think I voted in the 3-2-1 for the Raiders game, but if I did I would have given Katoa the 3. His work coming out of their own end is up there with the best wingers in the comp.

Katoa especially. He’s an elite finisher and pretty good at returns. Can’t way for him to be back

If that's true then it just proves how retarded we are if we don't play him now.

Yeah, we might. We might not. Did 'article' say he is a third the price of Reynolds or are you saying that? 200-250k seems like a lot for Trindall right now.
And also imagine going for "not much worse than what else is available", at this stage if there is any player at all better available get them.
Yes things change but the off contract list for next year isn't exceptional (there are some options), should at least try get something going that is better than give Trindall a year at 7 to see if he is okay or not.

If that's true then it just proves how retarded we are if we don't play him now.

It's a reasonable guess from the jOuRnO. Still think he'd have found some game time if we were already thinking that, but who knows

Looking at that draw and if we get some decent forward and wingers back there is a few potential wins there .
Trindall could be cannon fodder behind our present SOFT pack .
Let SJ and Moylan show if one of them is worth keeping - play them both in the halves
