I can’t see him getting off even though I thought it was ok. Any head contact is a sin bin and a holiday now, unless you play for the Roosters
Does the fact that a player has been din binned reduce the sentence in any way? Some players get charged without having been binned. It doesn't seem fair to treat the same afterwards.
Not worth the downgrade, could contest the charge and argue it is careless high not shoulder charge. Might still only be getting it down to three though
i think you can downgrade the charge, players before have gone in and gotten the grading lowered
A number of the Sharks players on Instagram questioning the difference between the Chrichton and Talakai shots, and fair enough. You’ve got to wonder about the NRL’s “unconscious bias” here. Even the Fox commentator called him a “scary looking individual”.
Will be interesting to see the match review committee charges today.
Yeah - we know that. Players contest the grading all the time. The discussion was whether or not you can argue that you should have been charged with something else (e.g. high tackle rather than shoulder charge). I don’t believe this is possible. If you think they have charged you with the wrong thing you need to just argue that you are not guilty of the “wrong” charge.
No charge for Crichton, what a farce. I hope the club, coach and players speak out about this.
(By the way, there was nothing wrong with either tackle).
